Comes with one free case of these.

More tools for uninformed cleaners to blow their money on. I'll bet this thing hasn't spent a year in the field. I'd bet the field testing done is in the factory. And maybe two or three companies.

hard on the back? give it a break already dude. Ok the zip was way to tall for you JUST the same as if you were  to use my vt14. OR if I was to use wand..... dancing dancing

From the design I can tell that it's going to be a nightmare in drying times, the vac slot is way too far from the spinning jets, the carpets would've got soaked first before it gets extracted, I don't think that's going to make it in the market without some modifications, if the spray bar is shorter and there are 2 vac slots ( one in front of it and one behind it ) that might work better in drying time, in the mean time I'd take my pmf 12" wand over that any day, I'm even willing to race against it too Razz

from the guys testing it apparently dry times are really good...

Few design points I dont like but look forward to more reviews and videos in the future. If a guy did allot of large open commercial I can see it being worth while. Maybe

I think if you compare the designs between that and the zipper, the zipper still wins imho, I don't have either one and don't really care for them but if they claimed the drying times are good, I would be curious if they tested them on poly only or they tested that on different carpets fibers ? Also on the field it's going to be different story, soil levels and padding thickness make drying times not so predictable, not arguing just stating my doubts :-)

Agreed! I cant see it matching the zip for dry times.

spinner type agitation 4 flow @ 6-800 psi vs pure high flow 12-18 flow on zip 500-800

I would love to do the head to head of that like I did before ( zip vs rx20)

Looks interesting. It did seem to skip a couple times in the video which would make me nervous and I really don't like how much lean the operator was under dragging it backwards...that is hard on the back. That isn't a knock against the Zip either, just something learned pulling the Steamin Demon for years and the chronic middle-back pain that it generated.

I'm not throwing it under the bus, I am open to anything when it comes to new tools, but I would be cautious. It does appear to clean very well, no streaks, and carpet didn't appear soaked following the pass.

The Zipper definitely has the upper hand with the dual vac ports and the ability to clean and dry dry frontwards and backwards.

Rob was the skipping you're talking about happen at 1:56 of the video? So when it skips the vac port come off the carpet and water recovery is lost?

Didn't the Zipper have a handle that you can adjust the height on? I would imagine the back pain would be from the user being hunched over while cleaning. The Steamon Demon only has one position so if your taller you're going to be hunched over while pulling and pushing it. The handle on my Orbot is adjustable and I push it around with no issues. Im probably missing something.

The CX15 does have some some advantages. It only weighs 20lbs and has a 17 inch cleaning path, it's made by HF and they make a pretty good spinner. It's also 1400.00 compared to the 2k Zipper.

It would seem like it might be too cumbersome for occupied residential cleaning and I wonder if fiber distortion would be an issue on some resi carpets. The Zipper might have the advantage on the residential carpets

ill agree there. the hunched over use of my steamin demon sucked being 6'2.5"  Zip seems perfect for my height with absolutely zero of the same back strain operating the SD

this tool is SO different it would need lots of personal testing before a purchase. I will be bugging my local supply which should be bringing this in for a demo. Ill video it

In Marks video- once its moving at an even pace it seems to do a nice job

Joe, have you ever tested a glide design like that before?

I hate throwing the Zip in this discussion, but I think the dual vac design was the neg with the Zip in my opinion and not a plus.  I would re-think the Zip if the rear vac shoe was a floating design, then there would be no chatter and worth another shot.

As for this tool, I still see back problems for many cleaners.  For me, it isn't the short handle and hunching over that was the problem with the SD and Zip, it was the drag wand motion in general.

If you watch the video late into it, you will notice how far the operator is leaning back as he dragged the tool...probably a good 15 degrees in the upper body.  When you have both arms in a fixed position and a mildly arched back, all the tension will be felt in the supine muscles.

Take that stress and clean a 15,000 sqft room and you will have problems.  It is a lot lighter than the other 2 tools, but I firmly believe the same result would be felt.

Now, if you only cleaned large areas once and awhile, it might be an acceptable risk.  I don't see a lot to dislike about its potential (well maybe the sales script is a bit over the top with all the "magic" and "new technology" stuff...still just water and vacuum, not that revolutionary), but I think that people with histories of back soreness need not apply.

You should be good Rob. I get the push back on the zipper apparently cause I viewed as Joe's boy. Cool wit me. BTW for the record I went after Joe to get the tool, and happen to be the guy who is most outspoken about the thing. Which in turn sticks the tool back on Joe and reduces the chance of him selling the dang thing.

Further more, I never have been a fan of equipment going to market with out a through field trial. I was the same way when I managed golf courses.

Funny how one would target a particular person when the whole community say the same thing.

Excuse me while I do a nose dive in my 55 gallon drum of soils and oils to take a swim.

Looks impressive in the videos and I like the way the hoses are routed to the side on this new CX-15. Other than that I'll withhold judgement until I can try one out for myself.

Were are the field tester reviews?

Where are the moisture meter reading that show faster dry times? I got some!
Ryan, Ken Raddon any pics or vids of The Experience Bf40fe5c-c4ed-46d5-aafd-2ef196112c99_zps48b26d07

Why does the new technology per say, have cleaners walking backwards?

I could sell videos on how to use the redneck zipper!  It's a proven tool, I just use it in a more efficient way that these walk backward tools, which yes, do put severe strain on the back.

What about those tip blooming swirls that are being placed on the fibers? (Which is probably why the rotovac has flood jets)

Where are the videos showing maneuvers in confined spaces?

Is anyone bothered by the 17" separation from the jet manifold to the extraction head?

Why is this an improvement from the scrub wand?  Because your "two" jets? Spin?

That in it self is a lose of agitation.  A six jet scrub wand can produce better results!  With less physical strain on the body.

These are question to be asked and thought through.  A new product has one advantage against current technology, it's presented in a different manor, but for what advantage?  This tool hasn't even addressed this.  They don't even mention or highlight that "you can walk backwards with this unit!" Like its ground breaking and going to change how cleaning is done moving forward. All I hear or see is hype words that thrill the ears and stimulate the eyes.  But, no real improvements to the quality of cleaning textiles.

I'm not knocking the HX-15, I'm addressing the "thinking" of how we anylize and absorb new products.  Ask yourself these questions, are there any major difference in this tool to the one in your vans now?

Yes, it leaves swirl marks in the carpet if you try to clean at a normal speed (See the video Mo posted above)!! laughing But someone sounds sold in the video!
It wasn't until a second slower pass was made that the swirl's weren't noticeable......but what damage did the do to the carpet fiber?..........I'm sure most of us are familiar with what a tile spinner does to carpet.  The more I think and read about a spinner on carpet, the worse the idea sounds. laughing
