where do you spend it?
Where do you spend your advertising \marketing dollars?
For me in 2014:
YP(2small ads)...33%
Landlord newsletter ad...33%
Postcards...33%
In 2015:
Bigger ad in landlord newsletter...80%
Postcards...20%
YP...dropped out...0%
This year my landlord volume is up 15%. Going with a Larger Ad.
Then I'm going to target a few specific complexes by offering a free cleaning. Beats spending $100's a month on ineffective stuff; like YP have become. Yes, only $100's...small market here.

Re: where do you spend it?
Door hangers
Free column in major real estate agent newsletter (read by 75 agents monthly)
Flyers provided to local insurance agents
Small advice column in local newspaper
Basically, I don't really pay for advertising except for printing costs. I get more action from the real estate agents and readers of the local column than any else I have ever tried....and it is free!

Re: where do you spend it?
100% on Yelp.... (started in May '14)...
Prior to that, I didn't spend any money on advo, which worked well until the economy took a crap.

Re: where do you spend it?
Angies List is about 70%
Seo/marketing/social media/ photography company about 15%
Home advisor no upfront, only pay for what you get
Deem same thing, no upfront
so far AL is still the best money spent for us
working on getting home advisor reviews, that one Ive heard from other business owner friends is bringing them just as much work as AL and yelp
