Blower exhaust temps

Blower exhaust temps
I've been updating this old butler all week (replaced all the plumbing today) and need to turn my attention to the blower silencer. I've been getting estimates on a replacement, but they all ask what the temperature limits need to be as most are a max of 210 degree rating. I have no answer...just dead air.
I know a blower can get awfully hot, but what about the exhaust air through a silencer? Would they likely be over 210 degrees as well?

Re: Blower exhaust temps
Yes, mine runs 250 deg. or close to it on most jobs.
And that's oin the exit side of the silencer.

That's what I was afraid of....most universal silencers that I have researched all state a 210 degree rating.
I guess I will keep looking....

That's weird, because I've been using a Uni Silencer on mine since day one without a prob.

Dang your actually two builds at one time, must be burning a hole in your pocket
Re: Blower exhaust temps
Rob, also consider my 25 hp eng. is blowing hot air directly on my blower all the time, which you don't have. I'd bet that's good for at least a 40+ deg. rise in temp.

Rob
What size are the inlet and outlet on yours. And post a pic I may have one here at the shop. I did have a new one if I can find it. I've got a used one off a PC legend I know need to see the configuration and size pipe.

This is what the factory silencer looks like new:
This is my boat anchor. Looking inside, it is just a box with an inlet tube and outlet resonator...nothing fancy despite the price tag.
The pipe is a 2.5 inch and the over-all space available is about 1 foot wide and 3 feet long.
The first butler I used to run back a hundred years ago just used a couple of cherry bomb exhausts, but it might not have been factory. I am half tempted to do that again, but it probably wouldn't last long.
