Re: Craigslist or ebay deals
Cool Dave, thanks for the offer, hope the guy still have them, if he does, I bet we can get the best deal cause hopefully he's desperate enough to get rid of them.
Rob, I'm planning to take an IICRC class first if I buy the equipments, I know some of us are against IICRC but I've learned so much from their classes.

I still attend the classes in my area, it could be better, but I always learn something new.

Keep an eye out on other craiglist deals and right now on ebay there are some nice stretchers below 300.00. I spent 3 weeks looking for a good stretcher and during that time a friend had one and sold for 75 brand new worth 500 and i didnt even know he had it up for sale. I finally found a nice crain head for 60 and now im up and stretching. If any one needs other supplies my friend is selling everything dirt cheap.

Re: Craigslist or ebay deals
Brian, you can tell your friend he's welcome to post what he has for sale in this thread or make a new thread in "classified" section in this forum, if they're good stuffs for cheap, I bet he'll sell them in no time.
What the heck is crain head ? Sorry I know nothing about carpet stretching tools

Re: Craigslist or ebay deals
Thanks dp, the head on the carpet stretcher that I needed was the crain brand, the other brand is roberts. These two type of heads work great for my new stretcher. My knees hurt bad if I use a knee kicker and I dont want to have surgery because of what the knew kicker can do so my new stretcher eliminates the need for a knee kicker. "No pain no gain" is not something this body wants to deal with.

Re: Craigslist or ebay deals
Stretchers are the only one to go. Those knee destroyers....er, kickers, are only used to disengage / engage the carpet and were never meant to be a stretching tool.
I actually prefer the smaller heads, but I really don't stretch much. Unless you have a tool with lots of extensions, you are pretty much stuck with smaller rooms.
Brian, do have you buddy post what he is selling, there are always people looking for installation / repair tools. If I was a better cleaner, I would definitely be doing more repairs and re-stretches.

Re: Craigslist or ebay deals
Because most cleaners don't do re-stretching and repairs, I'm often told by customers "you were the only one I could find that could stretch and clean the carpet". Which is great for me, because if there's no competition, I'm the only one bidding on the job, so it's my price and job usually.......making it easy to get paid top dollar to do the work.
I can't even guess how much money I would have left on the table if I didn't do the work.
I'm doing a job next week, stretching and cleaning a small 1 bd rm. apt for $600.....I usually average 2-4 of those jobs a month. Not to mention the add on carpet repairs I also do, just by informing a customer their damaged carpet can be repaired, which most people don't even think is possible.

I like those machines quite a bit and almost bought one down here last fall for $4000 with less than 1,200 hours. So, is the vehicle worth the extra 6k? Maybe, it's not a bad deal when you look at it that way. Looks to be wired in the back as well...I think that is a junction box on the wall.
I wouldn't knock people over to make an offer, but I think it could be a good purchase. I would probably offer $7500 and walk if it is not accepted.
There are newer machines out there for that price (El Diablo a few hours away down here for 5k as an example), but this would fit the needs of a guy who doesn't have the time to spend on building a truck and just wants to hit the ground running. It could make you back that $7500 pretty quickly....provided it doesn't become a lemon, of course.
Re: Craigslist or ebay deals
I would offer the blue book value of box cause you know you'll spending some money to bring either the machine or the box up to par and it looks like the machine

I hate those valves, you can have them!
I'll take the Joe Valves all day long for full price.

Re: Craigslist or ebay deals
I couldn't see the dog at all,
I wonder if it would be easier to sell the van and TM separately?
Just noticed the TNT was local pick only

Wonder what's going on with that thing.......refurb? Notice the mess of wires and hoses in the 1st pic isn't there in the 4th pic.
Looks like it has a nice battery tho.
