Fire Sale at the Shed?
IF you were planning on adding any equipment to your business in the next 3-5 weeks....hold off, I might be closing the doors and selling off by mid-May. It is too early to know for certain, but something has come up that might be a "game-changer" for my plans.
I know that is very vague, but I would rather not detail it until I know for certain. Just thought I would let you all know that the shed might be getting emptied soon and you can pick up a really good deal on some great equipment. Heck, you might be able to load most of it in a slightly cursed budweiser truck and drive it home.

Re: Fire Sale at the Shed?
Sad to hear that, but if a good opportunity comes your way, I'm happy for you.
Re: Fire Sale at the Shed?
When my good opportunity came I got out too.....but then I always wanted back in, but, under different pressures and I am doing so now....oddly this isnt about money as much as it is teaching my son....and, I get to do my game without the pressures of bills....I get to change the way things are being done around here too....these guys are expensive AND crappy,(really) Typical of this area. Living in an area where you are a captive audience creates weird things....its the take it or leave it attitude.....most take it because no one has a real choice....choose between a few crappy choices....Im planning on destroying the good ole boys once again!

Maybe I shouldn't have even posted it, but I didn't want you all to shore up your tools and have no market for me in the end. I also probably wasn't thinking real clear being that early in the morning.
I could not agree more Devon, I got into this for similar reasons and was never for the money. The cleaners around here are crap and think nothing of telling customers that the carpet will be wet for "a couple of days". In fact, I could see myself re-inventing the company in a more lean fashion down the road if I do close up.
Unfortunately, it isn't do to any job offers. I just had my annual physical and the tests came back with lots of red blood cells in my urine and some issues with my white blood cell count as well. Probably means nothing, but they scheduled a battery of tests later this week to investigate my kidneys / bladder for tumors. The sample tested this morning still contained blood.
It was actually kind of funny talking with the specialist with my personal doctor present. The specialist told me that my vitals were excellent and felt the the odds of me having bladder cancer would be like being struck by lightning twice.....I looked at my doc and we both chuckled since I have been struck by lightning twice.
Anyway, I doubt it will be anything. They are just a little concerned since kidney and bladder cancers are some of the listed effects of drinking the contaminated water at Camp Lejeune back in the 80's. At least there is believed to be a 200% greater chance then the average person has.
Hopefully, the tests come back negative.....I would hate to the see the fight between Mo and Davey over my #4 LG.

Re: Fire Sale at the Shed?
Probably nothing Rob just like what happened to my brother a couple of months back. However I didn't bother following up with the little giant on the coil I order last week after reading your topic.
Re: Fire Sale at the Shed?
milspec...keep your chin up! you will be fine.
One of the worst things anyone can do is stress. keep us posted and plan a big future with the cleaning gig.
I have three tumors in my chest and the MRI reading said most likely does not represent cancer.....Im good with that! I dont try to find out anymore.
Now....lightening?

We really do have to stop having things in common...people will start to talk.
Struck dead by Lightning....twice, same year. I might have you on that one.
I don't plan on letting it bother much, it just sort of struck me last night at that hour. Heck, the welder was installing the platform on the Bud truck today...can't die now.
Re: Fire Sale at the Shed?
Everything is going to be fine, no pasa nada, nada, nada. Just relax and enjoy cleaning carpets.
Re: Fire Sale at the Shed?
That sucks. Pray for the best.
I'd pay to see MO and Davey wrestle it out for the heater.

We might have challenge here gang. What do you think, some kind of cage match?
Re: Fire Sale at the Shed?
I just have one heater, and two thermostats........one of which doesn't work, unless a max temp of 160 counts as working? lol.
Oh and I also have a copper coil with a hole blown in it you can stick 2 fingers in.
May the force be with you, Rob!.........I have a feeling you will be just fine.

Thanks gang, will see what they say in the morning....then it is off to clean nearly 400 event chairs and 2 houses!
