I hate cleaning in the rain
Don't you just hate cleaning in the rain. You gel all wet, your hoses get all muddy and dirty, your feet get stinky, your hair style gets all jacked up I got pelted by hail today and had some nice lightening strikes to close for comfort. . Is it easier to get electrocuted running a regular solution hose or steel braided? I think I would prefer to clean with snow on the ground. What say you?
Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
I hate working in the rain too, but luckily don't have to do it more than a couple times a year usually.

Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
lol yes its a challenge. always at the end of the summer coming into the fall/winter it takes a minute to get used to doing it efficiently without getting things dirty.
the only real problem is when you do a house in a more rural area that has a dirt driveway, have had to call one a "rain out" before.
if they have a nice clean driveway and walkways I dont mind, just have to get used to always winding up hoses with a rag in your hand guiding it in.
one reason were switching to power vac reels, hit the button and hold a rag over the vac line
also can be crucial to have an "indoor only" vac hose, just coiled up with a husky strap and that hose never sees outside ground

Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
I guess it could be worse.I could be cleaning in tornado alley like Mr Devon.
Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
Tornado!!!! Where??? Im not a jumpy guy from California.
Those things are frigging crazy. I dont live too far from Moore OK where they keep getting hammered, as a matter a fact I go to Moore often. The house I just bought was directly hit by one years ago....three of them came across the pasture and one hit the house....fortunately, it was very weak at the point of impact and didnt do as much damage as they are known for. The other two did lots of damage in my town that it took over a year for everything to get back to normal.

AC...this is exactly why Im so focused on my reel being electric....this spring has been very wet so far...my lawn has not dried out even one time since early winter.....im soaked and very excited about sunshine tomorrow.
We wipe with rags even when its not been wet....unless its just a pristine home with the walks you mention.

Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
If I live and work in Seattle I would definitely buy a "hoser", there's no way around it !
And yes I HATE working in the rain, much more than I hate working in the dark !!

That "hoser" is handy, but get the second version or you will never fit the hose connectors through it.
I don't like working in the rain either. especially if lightning present, but I would still take it over cold and snowy.

Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
I hate the high humidity when cleaning on a rainy day. This week I had a town house on the windward side of the island. No ventilation or A/C. Like working in a steam bath. Then run wet hoses back on the reel. Ugh!

^ That is why I keep a blower in the van all the time, this time of year. I use it to cool myself, makes all the difference between soaked with sweet, and feeling on fire, or being dry and much cooler with that air movement.

When the humidity is 100% indoors a blower doesn't do much good.

Dry times have to be difficult down there, not everyone is running a/c and with your humidity...eek.
Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
Fortunately we have a mix of trade wind weather and Kona weather. Kona winds tend to be light and variable bringing in VOG from the volcano. Humidity is high. Then the trades come back out of the North East and the humidity drops to the mid 60's. All in all I shouldn't complain. You tend to get spoiled I guess.

Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
Rainbow, when I went there earlier this year I didn't see any carpet cleaning trucks / vans at all, I was there for 5 or 6 days.
How's business ? With that kind of humidity I imagine you don't have summer cleaning rush ?

Can I get a second to use the Zap button on this guy?James C. Karns wrote:Yes cleaning in the rain is not a good idea, even i don't like to do same. In winter season it's better to use the snow rather than rain to clean it.

We had some sprinkles here in central Washington. Needed it!!! The forest and wild fires are insane. Just a heavy haze all over.

Yeah Matt I saw some Satellite pics of the smog. It's wide spread hopefully you'll get some rain and wind
Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
I'd love to clean in the rain right about now.....it would sure beet 100 deg heat and 70+% humidity.
But I usually don't like doing it.

At least you're close to the ocean Dave. I decided to stay home for labor day and now that you told me about the weather Im glad I did.
It was miserable the last time I was there. I do';t remember LA getting so humid in the past. Must be the el nino.
