Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
Work on holidays and charge them out the kazoo. El Nino is kicking our ass over here. Had at least four near misses from tropical storms and hurricanes. Two more are on the way. Talk about humid. I wear shorts, a shirt and sandals. After my first job yesterday I took off my shirt and wrung the sweat out of it. I have to change clothes between each job. Nasty! Can't wait for fall. Only problem is it doesn't arrive here until November.

You need to mount a clothes line on top of your truck Rainbow...dry as you drive.
"No fall until November"....thanks for rubbing it in, I will probably be shoveling out for the 3rd time in October.

Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
It's been raining for a few days here and talking about muds on the hoses especially on the vac hoses, haven't cleaned my van in days except just wiped here and there, what are the chance to find a used hoser for sale ? I don't want to spend $ 300+ for something that is going to be used once or twice a year.
I don't know how AC does it in Seattle, I don't think I can do carpet cleaning down there.

You could probably find a used one, but you want the second generation one or else it will not clear the cuffs on a 2 inch hose.
I use mine monthly, it is worth the investment to me. Prior to buying one, I would toss them in a kid's plastic swimming pool and scrub them by wand.
That Hoser is much, much faster.

Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
hardly any rain up here lately
sunshine and clear skies. All the same Dp I dont know how you guys live down there in the summer, I could never do it
I have lots of family in So Cal so Ive been going there since I was very young. You should check out the NW sometime, would probably surprise you how beautiful it is here.
very green everywhere, tons of trees and very very clean air/water

AC, I've been to Seattle a couple of times, I love Oregon and Washington and admire the views and how green it is, as a carpet cleaner, I just can't handle the rain, if I'm doing something else, I would love to live there, I used to live in east Oregon for a little while.

Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
We have a hoser Dp and never use it. its one of those kinda gimicky things that sounds better on paper.
electric hose reel is the ticket, just hold a rag over the vac line while its retracting. We do this even in sunny weather.
rarely do we ever get mud on the vac line, even on a really rainy day. Most every customer has a driveway.
Ive ran into 2 jobs in the last 8 years where they had no pavement and just dirt going up to the house, of course their carpet and inside of house is super dirty.
I warn them that because of the really muddy areas in the way of the access to the house we will have to charge extra for equipment cleaning after the job.

Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
On my last job of the day the shies just opened up starting dumping rain with a lot of lightening. I had to put down the wand a couple of times as a pre caution so I would get electrocuted. Two small lightening fires started locally.
I wonder if I should switch out my steel braided hose when the monsoon season hits Arizona?

Good choice.
AC is right, it is a bit of a gimmick, but there will be times when you are very glad that you have one. Not just for mud, but to deodorize the hose. Getting that urine smell or caked on grease from the local choke and puke off your hose can take more than a rag. You can run your rinsing agents through that hoser...deodorizer, degreaser, sporicidin, etc.
Sure, I do wish that it left the hoses drier than it does, but I wouldn't be without it around here. I use it at least weekly around here.

Mo, I would think the rubber sleeves on your wand as well as the hose cuffs will protect you from lightning ?

Re: I hate cleaning in the rain
It seems sometimes cleaning in the rain is sorta counter productive. Either that or i'm just too clumsy to avoid bringing more water.

Mo wrote:Don't you just hate cleaning in the rain. You gel all wet, your hoses get all muddy and dirty, your feet get stinky, your hair style gets all jacked up I got pelted by hail today and had some nice lightening strikes to close for comfort. . Is it easier to get electrocuted running a regular solution hose or steel braided? I think I would prefer to clean with snow on the ground. What say you?
Ohh... We are on the same boat. I have it too.
