I heard a local company (hvac guys) who had a pitch that I thought was pretty darn good.

"We send a trained technician to your house, not a salesman like the others"

In this industry, how many companies send a salesman with very little skill at cleaning? I can sure name several in this area....often pushing the cut rate special to get to the house. This little slogan has been resonating well here locally and it might be something to consider.

That doesn't mean that you don't try and up-sell, but it means that the customer isn't going to get a pushy salesman badgering them in their own home, which is one of the main complaints people seem to have with service companies and why they tend to be on the defensive until you build some trust.

Nobody likes walking onto a car lot and dealing with a pushy salesman. I sure as heck wouldn't tolerate one in my own home.....no different than anyone else.

Good pitch, I dislike being sold especially by pushy salespeople and I sometimes have a hard time saying no to them.

That's is a pretty good pitch kind of lets the guard down a bit. If I was off the truck I would go out and do in home quotes all the time.
