Hoses Hoses
So right now I take my 100 foot solution hose into the hose and work my way back to the machine. I can usually reach the van most of the time. I then take my 50 foot vacut and work my way out.
I have been thinking about using the mytee wraps to combine one 50ft vac hose and one 50 foot solution hose and putting it on the vac hose reel.
Does anybody do that? It seems like it would save time and I wouldn't have to mess with a 100 ft solution hose and the tangling mess, less reeling in and the mytee wraps will be on there permanently

Re: Hoses Hoses
Did it, didn't like it.
It makes the vac hose heavy, QC snag on objects more, and makes cleaning hoses a chore with the need to separate the combo.
Experiences differ, but it wasn't for me.

Re: Hoses Hoses
Personally I've never liked having the 2 hoses together. I always pull both hoses in to the furthest point, and then pull back the vac hose to the point I'm going to pre-spray first.

Re: Hoses Hoses
I may try that. I just don't like dragging hoses inside the house. I need a ride along with someone.
Re: Hoses Hoses
DP is the ride along man!!

Re: Hoses Hoses
He's to anal. I think he would ask me to go home midway through a job if I through a hairball in his van
Re: Hoses Hoses
I start by taking in the wand and the inline sprayer. I drop the sprayer off near the front door and take the wand to the farthest point. Then I go get the solution hose and spray my way in. When I get to the wand I set the solution line down and carry the sprayer out to the truck. Then I get the vac line and uncoil it while I walk back into the house. When I get to the wand I hook up and clean my way out of the house.

Re: Hoses Hoses
Everybody does it differently don't we?
I take the sprayer and wand to the farthest room first. Then I carry in coiled vac /solution hoses. I connect the sparyer and vac hose to the wand to anchor the hoses while I roll them out.
Probably not the most efficient, but the way I was shown a million years ago.

LOL Mo, that's too funny !
I love ride along, free labor, lol.
I always guesstimate how long of hoses do I need and I pull that much, if the carpets are dirty, after I hook up the garden hose and pressure hoses, I pre spray first, then I pull the vac hoses, of course by that time I already know how much hoses I'm going to need, but if the carpets aren't that dirty, I usually pull both hoses BUT I don't pull them in the house because I don't like pre spraying and have to deal with moving the hoses right and left, I pre spray from entry and work my way in to the bedroom because usually the living room is the dirtiest one and that way the dirtiest room gets the longest dwell time.

Re: Hoses Hoses
Interesting how some guys don't pull out the vac hose until after you pre spray. That idea might have saved me a couple of time from tripping over the dam things.
Re: Hoses Hoses
Haven't heard anyone one talk about the hide a hose. Have made these in the past for customers. They can be made in 50 ft or longer 100 ft inside of 100 ft vac with Q connects on each end if you have a leak it's inside the vac line. Some like it some don't but it is a option.

The hide a hose is actually prob a good idea, I've never thought about on a larger scale..........only for uphol. tools.

Would it end up robbing you of recovery cfm? Could turn that 2 inch hose into something closer to 1.75 inch.
Re: Hoses Hoses
I'm not sure, but I do think there would be some loss there.
Guess it would have to be tested with the CFM meter, or would that really tell the tale?

Re: Hoses Hoses
And another negative I can think of is after a couple of days I wouldn't want to touch that pressure hose and it probably turn black from the black water.
I'm sure it would save tons of time from not dealing with it separately.
But wait, so you're going to have to drag both hoses while pre spraying ? Hmmm that would be heavy and hard to turn on corners, I don't think it's going to be good for me, great idea though.

Re: Hoses Hoses
Ive almost made myself the hide a hose a few years back but decided not to because I figured I would lose some vac power and I pre spray with my solution line so its would be hard to maneuver around 2in vac hose with the hydroforce
I may re think it a bit and maybe bring it to the top of the stairs and connect a 50ft line just for pre treating
Ive tried the straps and keeping both together, it doesnt work because after a few jobs the solution hose will be spiraled all around the vac line even if you strap it down really tight.
