So the customer says....only clean this and only clean that etc.....when almost done she says can you do this little rug (as if Im supposed to do a freebee) I weaken and say yes...usually on good jobs I toss in freebee stuff but tight customers are different.....anyway, after cleaning the rug she says I have an ink spot on my recliner does that machine get it out....I said No I do! and she said I'll give you $10 extra dollars to take it out(in her mind she is avoiding a full cleaning)......in my mind I knew she was playin me....fixin all her spot problems on the cheap.....so, I cleaned the spot and she came to see that it was gone....she also seen a nice big clean spot that bothered her more than the ink. LOL...........OH MY!...How much would you charge to do JUST THE CUSHION! OMG! I tell her then the cushion will be clean and the chair would look dirty......I charged for every section of that chair in increments to total $5 more than if she would have just said clean it......that paid for the damn rug!

My point is...dont pass on the little money. Aside of the small job and tight custy ....I added on the rug (lol) and an $85 recliner making the total change from $125 to $215. I love when they want to draw a line.....I damn sure draw one too. clean/dirty!

Don't let the customer walk on you, we're to remain in control of what we're doing, and get paid for it. wink

Yup, I'm sure we're not the only one dealing with cheap customers, but it sure as heck would be nice not to have to deal with these type of customers, I'm glad my pricing is where they are now, it automatically eliminates most of the cheap ones, I still do get them once in a while but it wasn't as bad as it used to be when I used to charge lower prices.

Customer is always right, I guess, right?

It's the flat out lying to my face that I get tired of........
"Oh no, we never spill anything!" with lil black spots everywhere!
Or "No we never do any spot cleaning", when the carpet is full of soapy residue, with Two three quarter empty bottles of resolve/simple green sitting in plain sight. laughing

lol, one lady called us and said she wanted spot cleaning.. we said we dont do spot cleaning because our system brightens the carpet and its generally dirtier than you think so it will leave a clean area.

Turned out her house was 8500sq ft.... I got her to just pay for the whole cleaning

ya she was trying to get a little here, then a little there, then a little more a football field away

It was pretty clean everywhere but I just wasnt going to budge on that one, just too much work moving the hoses that far

I tell customers the same thing, when they're asking for "spot cleaning"........homie don't play that game. Unless they want to pay full 8500 s.f. price for hitting a few spots, that like you said they end up looking like bleach spots.
