I cleaned for another recording artist

Some of you remember a few years ago I clean for the Captain and Tenille. Well today I cleaned for Jim & Sue Pike. Jim was founder and lead singer of The Letterman. It probably doesn't ring a bell to you and It didn't to me either until Sue gave me some titles of their hits.

" A Summer Place" "Can't take My Eyes Off of You" " The Way You Look Tonight" etc

They have a very interesting and sad story. Jim tragically lost his voice for 10 years The first couple of years he had to write notes to communicate and he was finally able to whisper in peoples ears.  Can you imagine a singer losing his voice and what a hell that must have been?

Hi voice finally returned and he started up a group called Reunion with his brother a former Letterman. Sue gave me a pic and his new CD and I tell you what the man still has it.

They have a daughter that is autistic and she sings too.

His wife is currently setting up a gig with the ELKS Opera house here in town. Ironically Toni Tenille sang there a few years back and Ive been cleaning The Elks Opera house for the last 5 plus years. I like living in a small town.

I've always said one of the most interesting aspects of this businesses is the people that you meet so take the time to get to know your customers.

They have the Gold Records hanging on the wall.

That's awesome Mo and absolutely one of the great perks of this business.

I don't find many of them around this area, but it looks like I will be heading to Nashville in October to jam with one of Bob Dylan's band members....he also played with Lenny Kravitz.

You don't run into that working in a cubicle.

You're going to have a good time. I was in Nashville for a week for a FedEx sales conference stayed at the Opryland hotel. Nashville is an awesome town. You better learn especially how to 2 step if you want to dance with the ladies at all the bars.

I can 2-step, but with only left feet.

But at least with the southern girls you can romantic dinners at home and not worry about flying daggers

I only cleaned for one recording artist, it was the guy whom belongs in Black Eyed peas, I forgot his name.

I cleaned for a few actresses though, like Natalie Martinez ( she plays in New York CSI I think ? ) and also for Marlee Matlin.

I cleaned for President Clinton a couple of times. Actually not for him personally but in a place where they were staying while on vacation here. I also cleaned up after the Ferdinand Marcos (ex and late president of the Phillipines) vacated some VIP quarters on Hickam AFB. They trashed the place.
