Re: Countdown to Vegas
I looked at the extended forecast for Jan. while my feet thawed out from working on the truck......12 degree highs and sub-zero lows.
I booked the trip that minute.
I will only be staying for the 3 nights as I would worry too much about the vehicles in sub-zero temps to be able to relax longer than that. I suspect that it will be plenty as Vegas itself tends to bore me after 3 nights.
So, I have moved all my chips into the pot and will be attending. If you haven't booked it yet, it appears that there are several rooms still available, but the good flight selection is getting limited....at least from this region.
Hope to see you there and hope to win that special TNT as well....that would be a nice touch.

Devon will you be at the International Surface Expo in Vegas? That one will be held on the same dates as The ICE Expo
No, I will be at World Of Concrete. Its huge. Did you know concrete is the SECOND most consumed material on the planet?...second to water! I have a tool that the consumer uses to move the product easier and safer!
Really wish I could go and meet up with you guys. My "other" trip is tight as it is and even if I could it would be a long time in Vegas, not to mention on a budget. I have a lot of traveling to do in the next 6 months.

Re: Countdown to Vegas
January - February apparently has the lowest airfare rates not just to Vegas but everywhere, I found a few great deals, like LA - Orlando for $ 197 round trip or LA - NY for $ 247, it's crazy cheap.
Scott, when are you going and where are you staying ?

Feb 1 to 5 @ Westgate Resort...its close to the convention is the only reason I took it.... I usually stay across the street at The Residence Inn but it was booked already.
Look at the crazy size of this show.

Re: Countdown to Vegas
Wow, that show goes all day too. I hope you bring a good chair with you and stay away from the booth advertising cement shoe covers.
Re: Countdown to Vegas
9 to 5 for three days then 9 to 1 on the last day....its a beast! NO CHAIRS, EVER! the real estate is to expensive to be sitting! We need to be working the booth ALL hours times 4 guys!

Re: Countdown to Vegas
Seriously considering attending ICE. Just have to get through next 2 days of work before I try and get my head around anything.
Re: Countdown to Vegas
Just visited the ICE website and was looking at who was in the exhibitors list....I was surprised when they didnt also have a link to the individual website...they had the company logo but with no link!...why??? This is a very important thing to do for both the show and the exhibitor. If I was going to attend I would want to make sure to visit a certain group of exhibitors before I freely walked the show.....you know "Business?" oh well.

Re: Countdown to Vegas
That lack of links is a little strange. Maybe it will change come the first of the year?
EL, hope you can make it out. Has to be warmer than NJ at that time.

Re: Countdown to Vegas
The change wont help...the traffic is now...prior to the attendance is when they have the flux. Oh well, not a big deal BUT if I was renting real estate during this time I would not be happy about that....the link should also help boost the exhibitors site as well. When I launched my new product I had budgeted for the show and when my info hit the Shows website I sold enough product to attend...gave a nice boost. traffic went from 2 to 3 a day to 150 and 200 a day. not bad for a single product.

What about trip to Hawaii DP?
Re: Countdown to Vegas
Mo, Hawaii is almost always expensive since there is no low season for that region, usually flights to Honolulu is cheaper than other islands but cost of hotels in Honolulu are always more expensive than other islands, so at the end of the day the total costs would be about the same what ever island you go to.
They're usually about $ 700 - $ 800 RT.

Re: Countdown to Vegas
Mo does have a good situation in that he can get a direct flight out of Phoenix to Hawaii. That makes the trip much more forgiving on the wallet and caboose.
