It's going to be a hell.of a week
It's going to be a busy one. Inhave the opera house and a charter school and admin offices. The opera house will have the AC on but the school is out for summer and it's going to be 105 degrees yuck. Can't wait to get through this one.
Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
Is this that same Opera house you sent pictures of a year ago?
Do they turn off the AC in the school building when on recess? That would suck! My old gradeschool was one of the old brick buildings from the 50's and it didn't have any AC.....like being locked in a trunk on a hot summer day.

Hope you can position a few airmovers to keep you a little cooled off. Be CAREFUl of heat stroke!

Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
I made it 6.5 hours my helper was there after the first four. The school is closed so the air was not in Rob. Toward DS the end of the day the last two rooms were at 95/degrees
Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
weve been having some 90 degree days here so my helper is blowing the air mover on me while I clean.
could possibly be one of the biggest perks of having a helper lol

Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
My helper would be swinging the wand and I would be directing the air mover

That's right !! I would do the exact same thing, no way I'm paying someone $ 15 - $ 20 / hour so they can watch me clean, lol.

Onpay mine 10.00 and instill make him sling the wand. Luckily the minimum wage hasn't got up here DP
Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
I hate working in conditions like that. Not only is miserable, but it really screws up the drying process and the results can end up very poor as a result.
Oh, and they will still blame the cleaner every time.

Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
Mo, minimum wage hasn't gone up here, it won't go up to $ 15 until 2020, I just can't see anyone sweating as much as they do cleaning carpets for less than $ 15, if they are efficient, $ 20 is a must, for me anyway.
Besides all politics aside, when they make $ 15 - $ 20 / hour, they most likely are not going to get welfare from the government, you are helping the economy that way, of course that's only if you can afford to pay them that amount. Your needs and your business survival is the priority.

Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
Yeah It was steaming in the rooms but I left the windows and door open in all the rooms
Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
My helpers have all been family members but your right I should raise the pay to 10:15 per hour.
Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
My helper was running the OP and drive plat burned out again. He probably kept running it longer than he should have cause he sheared off the screws hold the bearing to the velcron plate. This crap always happens when I'm busy. I just put on a spare bearing and 21 inch velceo plate until i receive the parts
Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
Are you running it with the weight stack on it Mo? Just seems like they are frying faster than they should.
Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
No. I think its just a design flaw with the plastic velcro driver. Mine is an older model you might have and updated model. HOS even says that the velcro driver is a wear and tear item.
Im running the shit out of this machine though. It probably has more hours on it than the truckmount

Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
I know how you felt at that school now Mo.
I just returned from cleaning a building that houses Elephants. Being African animals, they keep the area at Tarzan-like heat. The heat index was 100.4 degrees in there and no air movement. I was soaked after just an hour.
It was still 90 degrees outside, but it felt like a freezer compared to that building. I drove home with my head stuck out the window like a dog trying to cool down.

Sounds like a lot of work. I wish I could get commercial work like that. I usually get residential work and the payout isn't near as good.
Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
It really only takes one brownieboy. Target the most recognized places in your area and pitch them. Even just one of a highly recognized company can provide a great anchor and referral that opens a lot of doors.
It is a lot like being at a party. Aim for the hottest girl in the room...you might be surprised how many are too afraid to make the attempt.

Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
It does seem like commercial are the biggest ticket items and you realize that at the beginning of the year when you start receiving your 1099s
Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
Commercial tickets are definitely higher but it doesn't mean the profits are higher, it can be but not always, Brownie boy commercial is not for everyone, if you haven't gotten one yet, try getting one ( medium sized ) and see if it's your cup of tea.

Re: It's going to be a hell.of a week
Dp is correct, commercial is a different animal and not everyone likes doing them. Still, if you live in the snow belt, commercial in the winter can be a life-saver.
