Depressing Week
I have been sitting on butt much of this week with little getting done. The only jobs that I did were 6 boats on Tuesday and had 2 houses cancel for the week. So, I am sitting here bored and have cleaned up my van 4 times already for something to do.
I do need to clean out my garage, so that is today's agenda, but what a dismal way to end to the month. At least there are some larger jobs scheduled for next week, but these slow times are really driving me crazy. I might have to take a job just to stay sane this winter.

Re: Depressing Week
I spent the past few hours in the garage getting organized and putting away all the tools. I had to stop due to mosquito attacks....they have been extreme down here all Summer.
Don't tempt me Mike, you might find me at your front door looking for work after the first blizzard.

Re: Depressing Week
So this week we are finalizing our packing/move.
My phone dies/stopped ringing!! Not even telemarketing calls. Actually, afew telemarketing call. 3 freaking jobs!!!!
I'm not worried. When ever I get sick, go on vacation.... The phone stops ringing until I'm ready yo go back to work. Always happens, go figure.
I'll let you know next week if the phone is.....
So I understand slow, phone not ringing. Heck, I even called the biz # to make sure calls we going thru.

Re: Depressing Week
I just don't have an idle setting, I need to stay busy. The problem is that if I don't have some cleaning to do, I attack home projects instead. That doesn't sound bad, except it also means spending money.
Maybe next week will be rocking, it is supposed to warm up again.

Re: Depressing Week
It's been too damn hot down here plus humidity seems higher too which is unusual, californians can't handle this type of humidity and seems like they are freaking out closing their doors and windows and blast their AC and stopped calling any service people except for AC repair guys, lol.

Re: Depressing Week
My daughter in Orange is coming to visit this month. I told her our lows are in the high 40s and highs in upper 60s. She can hardly wait to get out of there, she's sick of the heat.
Re: Depressing Week
save ur money, with a new president often comes a bubble burst.
our real estate is beyond inflated here right now, just not realistic that a small 2bd house is reaching 1,000,000
and thats not lakefront, or close to the beach, just a normal north seattle neighborhood
last time it bursted was because of the sub-prime loans pre 2008, which isnt the situation now so maybe it wont who knows

Re: Depressing Week
The burst is coming and it will be in the form of student loans. I fully expect a Clinton win and the forgiveness of loans or some strong payment relief will be part of her first 100 days.....Banks are going to get slaughtered.
I already moved my 401k and parked it in low risk investments. It will stay there for at least a year until the future shakes out.

Re: Depressing Week
the heat can be a negative sometimes....Although I do like it when Im at the beach drinking my Pina Coladas over looking my 400' yacht with all my hookers and cocaine and ......what oh sorry I fell asleep again... yea it's hot
Re: Depressing Week
1 mil for a 2 bedroom! That's more expensive than hawaii or Manhattan. Maybe not Manhattan.
Yacht and hookers then i woke up on my 15 dingy with my farting on me

Re: Depressing Week
nah hawaii can be way more, just a small condo can be 2mil
depends where in hawaii. its crazy the houses you see here for 950,000 or so... some dont even have off street parking

Re: Depressing Week
It's all about the location, not the house. My Brother buys up older homes in small towns and has them moved to primo locations in the larger cities. It can cost $30,000 to move the house, but once they are set-up in the new location, they can often sell the property for a $100,000 plus profit.

Are you talking about mobile home ?
I also think you're right about Clinton, I however disagreed about the banks part, she is way too close to the banks and the banks already gave her huge campaign donations, I suspect the economy is going to tank but not in the first couple of years of her presidency, she's way too sneaky, I would watch out for her last year in office which is around 2020, if she thinks she's going to win again, the economy will be okay for another few years ( Bill Clinton's strategy applied here ).
Oh well, it's political garbage, I don't even watch news anymore cause it's depressing to see both candidates.

Re: Depressing Week
Not mobile homes....stick houses. The lift them right off their foundations and flat bed trailer them to the new location. When you see them do it, you assume that it must cost a fortune, but compared to the property value increase at the new location, it is often a bargain.
Re: Depressing Week
Not sure whats different but I have to schedule my days off....I'm covered up "literally" I took today and tomorrow off and today I booked 3 jobs and did two in person estimates and got both...one was a casino....have to start at midnight for that one. Tomorrow I weakened and now will do two empty units...I'm a sucker for an empty rental. Maybe give the full time thing a while and maybe it will work out...dont find part time work...it will get in the way.

Re: Depressing Week
I am having a good week right now and booked a theater for next week. Not as busy as many of you, but staying employed feels good.
I do think part time work would get in the way as well....I'm still making monthly needs, just not getting ahead for the slow down in a month. OF course, than can all change in a heat beat.
