Uniform suggestion
I have been trying out a pair of tactical pants instead of shorts this past week. I think it gives a better professional image to be in pants rather than shorts, but you have to have some comfort as well on hot days.
Well, I have tried several and found that I really like the Propper brand lightweight tactical pants. They dry real fast, roomy without looking baggy, and actually keep pretty cool with good air movement.
It has been upper 90's heat index for the last few weeks here and these pants have worked very well....and I don't have AC in the van. I just ordered a few more and plan to make it the staple uniform over the cargo shorts that I was wearing.
They also carry the same thing in cargo shorts, but I hate long shorts and they are a 9 inch inseam, so I am staying with the pants. Throw away the belt they give you though, the buckle makes it a disaster.

(The teflon stain protection is a nice touch as well)

That is what started this process....tired of the burns as well.
The other thing is that I am a gorilla. I have athletic legs from all the running, but a sweaty ape is not a good look for any business. They really do breath very well and dry really quick.
Re: Uniform suggestion
It's so warm and muggy here, I am breaking my own rule, and wearing shorts this week.
I was wearing blue jeans, because I got tired of the cargo pants I used to wear. The pocket flaps didn't like to stay flat after a very short time of wearing them.
Got an order in with a local graphics arts place for new shirts and hats. Just got that deal moving Friday.

Re: Uniform suggestion
What kind of hats?
I get twill caps from Cabela's Corporate Outfitters for like $7 embroidered.
I also like the safari shirts that Cabela's sells. Some find them a little warm, but I think they work okay as they too dry really fast and don't take on odors or stains.

Re: Uniform suggestion
"Trucker" hats. Ones with the mesh vent panels in the back and the fronts made of stiff fabric. I've tried other types of hats, and these are still my preferred hats to wear. Also these seem to be the hardest to actually find.
Shirts are preshrunk Tshirts. It's just too hot being in the direct sunlight for polo's. I do have some long sleeve button ups, for cooler weather.

Re: Uniform suggestion
Funny that trucker caps would be hard to find these days, but I guess most vendors sell fitted now.
I just buy them for techs to wear or to give away. I look really stupid in hats, so I never wear them. I figure that for the $7 that they cost me, giving them away can add some cheap exposure. Probably have about 30 running around town now.

Re: Uniform suggestion
Big thing now is the moisture wicking caps, and the full cloth hats. The mesh panel hats are harder to find, and usually as expensive as all cloth hats.

Already got mine on order locally. Just approved the graphics and embroidery a little while ago.

Re: Uniform suggestion
Good to go then.
I wish I didn't look like a dork in a hat, it would be nice to wear one at times.

Re: Uniform suggestion
I don't wear a hat but maybe I should start, In the summer it would help keep the sweat of out of eyes.
