Your suggestion on encapsulation chemicals?
Hi,
We are trying to find the best encapsulation chemical for carpet cleaning. We use the square scrub with bonnets and can back up with extraction. Thanks!

Soils and Oils Encap is the best I've used. I also use it as my rinse for HWE.

I like soils and oils cuz its an odorless encap and you can't beat the price but for the sake of giving Jeff some other options.

Re: Your suggestion on encapsulation chemicals?
I was temped to get those "free samples", until I realized they weren't so free after the $30 in shipping!!!
Seriously tho, I refuse to buy from online vendors that bend you over and make money on the shipping cost......just rubs me wrong.

Re: Your suggestion on encapsulation chemicals?
Cost 18.00 buck to ship to AZ and you're getting 10 different products to test it is UPS though not USPS
Re: Your suggestion on encapsulation chemicals?
The sample pack is a good deal and idea for someone trying to find the best product for their business. After testing the samples, I believe you will be happy with Soils and Oils Encap from Joe Bristor....I haven't met a cleaner that didn't like it.

Re: Your suggestion on encapsulation chemicals?
Your welcome Jeff. Are new to the business or just to new encap products? Are you using it as a VLM product or HWE. Some encaps need to be agitated in order for it be effective. With some you should never add a booster to or it will throw the entire formula off and it wont shatter when vacuuming. Some are film forming and are used primarily for HWE.
If your looking for an encap that will shatter upon vacuuming you can do a dish test by putting couple of drops on a dish and see how it looks and feels after drying. Is it dry or is soft, when you scratch it with your finger nail does it shatter and break apart easy. Another thing to consider are dilution ratios some products recommend 2,4,6,8 ounces per gallon.
My recommendation to you would be to test several products in different situations and decide for your self. These manufactures are the one that are popular in the forums

One more thing. Joe offers his encap in a 55 gallon drum saving a lot of money on shipping. You may need to order some things first to establish a relationship with him but thats one hell of a value that you won't get fro the other guys.
I almost forgot John G at CCSOP also sells cleaning solutions from what i recall some of the products are relabeld vacaway and he sells the best pads in the industry Glad Pads

Re: Your suggestion on encapsulation chemicals?
Not only does Joe's chems "saving a lot of money on shipping"{, as Mo said. Joe actually offers FREE shipping on drums.........not to mention the $3 or so less per gal. you save by buying by the drum, and the monthly payment offer, of just paying for it monthly as you use and make money with it............$100 a mo. payment I believe is all he requires. BEAT That!!

Re: Your suggestion on encapsulation chemicals?
Just make your payment on a regular monthly bases, or risk being added to his 'flaky payer list' lol.....which I heard includes some guys that have participate on this forum.
None of us like to wait to be paid for jobs we do........so I have no idea why a guy wouldn't pay for a drum that's being offered at free financing, on a regular payment schedule.

Re: Your suggestion on encapsulation chemicals?
I stand corrected. I just saw a post by Andy McDaddy regarding Procyon. He said that their Extreme Encap was the best encap he has ever used and he is VLM vet.
I checked out their website they actually sell by the drum as well.
They do offer free samples and free shipping on two of their products. I recall using one of their encaps years ago I wasn't too impressed don't think It was the extreme stuff though
Jeff is your head spinning yet?

Re: Your suggestion on encapsulation chemicals?
Encap cleaning should almost be an entirely different profession. The array of tools and chemicals is crazy and it can be confusing.
Just buy various brands of juice and jump right in. Don't make it too complicated, there is no money in chasing your tail.

Re: Your suggestion on encapsulation chemicals?
Interesting how many facets there are to this. We have a case of Joe's product on the way and are looking forward to giving it a whirl. We're a BSC so carpet cleaning is not our main service but do a fair amount and have used extraction for 38 years but heard encap was very effective in certain situations. We do have some pretty hostile environments where folks track in fork lift tire dust, parking lot sand/salt, etc. and it gets ground in something terrible. We've tried a square scrub with bonnets and a simple prespray for the agitation effect, and then extracted with very good results but want to try encapsulating to see if this will enhance performance as well. I guess it's the Old Dog, New Tricks syndrome. Thanks again for all of your valuable time and assistance. Much appreciated.

Re: Your suggestion on encapsulation chemicals?
I don't see any reason why it couldn't work....don't forget a good vacuum first and you should be successful.

just wish he wasnt so against running cards, more than willing to pay the fee. I dont see why its such a problem if he accepts cards to just take a card payment
He did on the last one and has had my card on file, I always figured he was just going to run it... so Im guessing your talking about me but thats okay I dont mind.
Re: Your suggestion on encapsulation chemicals?
I think its just a matter of principal with Joe and credit card fees. He doesn't want to pay the fees and he doesn't want you to pay them either. I think he was the only person I ever wrote checks to.

Wow 38 years in the business! please hang around and share some of that experience with us. I think its awesome that after 38 years you're still looking and seeking out new ways improve your service
Re: Your suggestion on encapsulation chemicals?
I hate writing/mailing checks too!!..........I'd be more than happy to pay an extra couple bucks to cover fees, to not have to send checks.
But I really think, more than the fees it's about being able to avoid the IRS........just my thought. If you take a CC it's auto deposited into your account and no avoiding the IRS, but checks are a different story........think about it. But honestly I can't blame him, I do what I can do also (avoidance) lol.
