Halloween gimmic idea
I have been wanting to try this idea for years and I think I will green light it this year and would like your thoughts.
What I have planned is to combine with many area cleaners who have a good sense of humor and offer a week-long special leading up to halloween for "Zombie Cleaners". Each team would dress up as zombies and stay in character until inside the home at which time the professional side takes over. I think the kids would love it, the press would be all over it for local halloween news, and a cleaner would certainly get noticed. I actually wanted to start my business under this idea, but the adult in me said to grow up. Of course, we should all be more of a kid during halloween.
So what do you guys think? Good, bad, or really stupid? For the last 3 years, halloween marked the end of the residential cleaning season in my area, so why not end with some fun and maybe even a good run of bookings?

Now that's thinking outside of the box Mil. It might be tough getting other cleaners in your area to participate. Most cleaners in my area won't even wave at me when I see them on the road.
The funny thing is the ones that do waive are the more established and successful ones maybe you should approach them.

Great idea.
Do you really want your competitors in on your unique marketing idea though?
Hope it knocks the socks off your custys!

Re: Halloween gimmic idea
Those are my concerns as well, competition not wanting to be part of it. My problem is that if it works, I would never be able to meet the demand by myself, plus how cool would it look to have dozens of zombie cleaners covering the whole city? I think the latter would really get the exposure!
So far, no takers on the idea, but I have some time yet.

I couldn't bring myself to do it but that sure put a smile on my face reading it. I like the/your idea of having fun.

Re: Halloween gimmic idea
Instead of "steam cleaning", I plan to call it "theme cleaning".

Re: Halloween gimmic idea
Good point, maybe I will get lucky and hit a deer instead...more authentic anyway.

I have a close friend who has a large marketing firm in town, I can't afford his fee's so free advice is solicited. I considered putting someone in a Dalmation Costume Spinning a Sign,
with my web address at entrances to neighborhoods. His thoughts were the same as yours. Be Different & this one gets me everytime " There is no such thing as Bad Marketing" not marketing
is! Do a Press release and be the Leader, Go For It!
