Filter education
I got lazy one day, decided to go live vac reel. In order to do that I had to ditch the 2.5 hose and the 2.5 rc99 filter.
So was running all 2 inch live and using a mytee filter (fits the 2 inch hose)
Here's what I learned,,, about half way thru a typical job my vac was reduced by about half, On a bad job , I would have to change the filter 4 or 5 times in order to keep the vac strong. Also noticed the carpets felt much wetter after the job. (roto vac loads the filter fast)
So finally I realized it was easier to run a section of 2.5 hose with the RC99 , rather then to run live reel with a candy arse filter that clogged every 2 or 3 rooms.
Switched back , and carpets are drier, and I don't ever have to worry about losing vac part way thru a job. Dealing with a 50 section of 2.5 isn't that hard,
Some one slap me next time I get lazy.

I knew this emoticon would come in handy at some point
But it's cool to experiment Andy

Re: Filter education
I just saw an old van with Butler unit for sale local. It was running live vac reel and it was the original 1.5 inch hose to boot. I felt the vacuum at 50 ft and thought there must be a hole in that blower?
Sometimes you forget what the old days with old ways really felt like. We all could use a "lazy" day as a reminder.
