Which one did you get? I'm still hunching over a 30 inch straight tool...not my favorite.
Re: New VT Stair Tool
Stair tools suck period. I do love the one I got from Joe. Cleaning stairs sucks really.

I like the clearview window idea, that would be interesting. Also may have to look into a taller stair tool...I don't expect to start shrinking for another 15-20 years.

Re: New VT Stair Tool
It is a great wand, I personally think......I've been using the 13" for a couple years now and love it!
But I had to make my own window, before that was even an option.
I couldn't imagine using a wand without a window in it, after getting so dependent on using it.

I've said it many times, I like feedback tools. Adding a window to the wand head is a true winner of an idea. How well is the window holding up on clarity?
I still want to see a clear wand head....some day that will happen

Is the window made out of glass or plastic ? If plastic, my concern is it might turn yellow over time due to heat and dirty water, is the window easily replaceable ?

Great questions and what I am worried about. I had to change the window on my Demon about every 6 mos. and the window on the Zipper is gone completely, so I wonder how well they last?
Re: New VT Stair Tool
Well, I've had mine on for about 6 months, and it's still as clear as the day I installed it. Mine is about 1/3 round slice of optically clear acrylic tubing, and I just used 'GOOP' to attach it over the slot I cut in the lower tube right out of the head. It's cheap at the internet plastics co I buy from and would take only a few min to instal a new piece when needed.
I could be wrong, but I think having the window in the tube gives a more accurate extraction reading than it being in the head. Having it in the head allows for a bigger window, which I think is nice, but I wonder if you get as well of a reading?......Maybe Joe knows?.....Joe's Nose?!?! ........have to change that Emo to "The Cracker" soon!!

Re: New VT Stair Tool
I wondered about the sight tube vs head window as well. I think the window would be easier to see by its location while the tube would have more area so the water would be dispersed more. Both will show you recovering water and the dirt load of that water, but the head window would provide more detail due to density of the water flow.
Of course, the window in the head right at the entry to the tube would clog easier than a tube window. On my steamin demon, that window would clog up with animal har and poly fuzz after awhile and require cleaning and it was right off the vacuum slot.
Bottom line is that feedback is a good thing for performance in either form.
