Found this at lowes
$25 it measures % moisture. It's a penetrant moisture meter. Probably not the tool of choice for the avid restoration contractor but looks like a good one for carpet cleaner. Have not used it yet so I will get back with performance review.

Re: Found this at lowes
Thats a good find. Would that be something you could use to detect urine? or would that be more for water restoration?
Re: Found this at lowes
It would detect moisture, I'm gonna try it for urine.

Great video and great find!
Video of the month nomination right now from me.
Great to find something I can refer to a number of people in the industry and some insurance adjusters as well.

That's a great idea too Mark. I actually used it in the black light users house.

Good tool along with black lite. Customer would think that is professional using these tools. I will be getting one. Probably need to clean the tips after all jobs. Thanks for find Ryan.
Re: Found this at lowes
Not a bad find, especially at $ 25 ( in my local lowe's after 16% discount ), thanks Ryan.

Re: Found this at lowes
Never mind lol the inexpensive "Dri-Eaz Wet Check"......it's the perfect meter for urine. No % reading (not needed for urine), just a wet or not audible meter....I take it in with me on every first time customer quote/job, just to detect and impress the customer.
Not trying to step on ur toes, Ryan....just mentioning it here, because I think it got lost in another thread.

Just remember, wood will always have moisture.
The best urine detector is still the nose, still, that is a bargain or an invasive meter.

Re: Found this at lowes
Thanks for the follow up on that Ryan good to know that it works. That would that be a good tool to use to see how wet were leaving the carpet?
Hopefully it last longer than the measuring tool I bought at HD. It worked for a while then it started giving me false readings to the point that I couldn't rely on it. I forgot what brand name it was
