It's Cold even for the deep south

It never got out of the mid thirties today with sleet all day. Actually had about 6 inch ice sickles hanging off of the roof today. I know most of you have it much worse but this deep in the south it shouldn't be. Can't wait for Global Warming (even though I don't believe in it).

It has been the toughest winter I've had to work with in my four nd half years of cleaning. Us Carolina boys just aren't used to dealing with frozen hose bibs and days that don't break the freezing point.

It's been sleeting here since early this morning and snowing just about 1 hr north of us. Our highways are icing over and a lot wrecks happening. I think I'll stay by the fire.

One the great things about harsh winter weather is when people tell me to "go to hell", I thank them for their kind sentiment.

DOT traffic vest. Either way they just put what ever on that makes for great footage.

It's been snowing all day today. Still going hard too. We will get a small break over night then back at it in the morning. Just no ice please.

Were getting hammered. Got another 6 inches of snow now getting some sleet. Roads are terrible. Took me hour and half to get home this morning. We are gonna be locked down for the next 32 hours or so.

We're having snowball fights in the yard again. Looks like school will be cancelled for the rest of the week and even Ft. Bragg is closed. Really enjoying the time with the family.

This is discouraging. Every winter I keep telling myself that it will be the last one and I am going to move to the warm part of the world. No more cleaning in the cold.

What's the shipping costs to Jamaica?  

Jamaica? I've been there several times. Probably not going back.

Dominican Republic. People are beautiful. People are friendly. Rum is cheap. No carpet though.

I want to live there.

Although severely harsh, at least you guys are having a winter. $hit, here's it's 80 deg. now, which yes beats the cold you guys are fighting. But from this side, it sucks not really getting a break from the 'summer' heat.

Yeah well, just think, you can get 8 inches of snow in the middle of the week. Have to shut work down for two days. Employees only have 10 hrs on the clock that week. Come back to work on Friday, let em them know they just spent there weekend and we all will be working Saturday and Sunday to catch up and all of your employee get pissed because you make them work the week end. 

Wonder what they would have said if I have then a pay check with 10 hrs in it.

I'll take 80 degrees 365 than to have to deal with lack of commons since. 

Oh yeah and have one quit over text at the end of the day. Right after they insisted on leaving work early to sign papers for a vehicle.  Wonder how their gonna pay for that?   Had the finance company calling me asking me to let them off to go sign. Are you for real, how do you expect them to pay for a car with out a job?

Well, my post certainly was not meant to piss anyone off or make a bad day worse, but rather just the opposite.

As I said, just ignore if it's that much of a prob.   

I was stationed in CA for a few years, so I understand that lack of seasons getting mundane. In fact, I moved back to the midwest just to enjoy the crisp fall weather, but not exactly to work with water in it.

A day spent cleaning rugs in the sun sounds pretty darn good to me right now...maybe holding a nice beverage and looking like that guy in those rotovac commercials. At least it is supposed to warm up around here next week.

Ryan, that sucks. Employees almost always let you down in the end...can't expect them to value your company as much as you do. You almost have to view them as a tool instead of a partner in the cleaning game...maybe spray them with some WD-40, see if that helps.  

Haha. Not pissed by your remarks Dave. Just blowing off steam. WD40. Might need to buy a whole case of that. Off to work.
