my plan is to

pre spray the floor, scrub with crb, then spinner or squeege wand

then apply the sealer

and for the showers, pre spray and hand tool... dont really have anything to scrub walls yet

Yep.. and order some of Cobb's sealer it's the only one I have used that doesn't leave a residue.
What kind of tile and grout?
What color?
Is there serious hardware damage in the shower?
Joe's got the best hand tools for scrubbing grout. U will probably need to do some hand scrubbing especially in the corners and around the toilet.
Make sure and rinse like crazy and place fans and get it dry before applying sealer.
Did u take a picture?

I dont think so, she said its fairly clean.. I asked about lots of calcium, lime, etc and she said its not dirty like that its been professionally cleaned 2 yrs ago and she has regular maids that keep it up.

I havent seen it yet, I told her I would price it when we are there to do the carpets.

I told her it would be around .70/ sq ft

Ive cleaned and re colored grout and tile before but just at my parents house a long time ago and not with a TM

if she wants the grout re colored white, and I am going to use the grout stick.... what should the charge be?

I know it can differ depending on the size of the tile, but assuming they are 1ftx1ft tiles what is a ballpark sq ft price?

If I do re color the grout lines, should it also be sealed afterwards?

"Regular maids"??

Be careful, there might be some heavy layers of the old mop-n-glow on that tile. I used to find that at hotels a lot to cover the age / damge to the original sheen of the tile. It could make your job a bit longer than you had planned.

The other concern would be damaged or weak grout present turning it into a regrout job. I would just be honest with the customer, inspect it closely, and charge according to potential pitfalls. Once you are both on the same sheet of music, roll up the sleeves and go for it.

What product do you plan on using for color seal?
As far as the grout stick for application.. I think you are going to end up on your hands and knees no matter what because your going to have to be constantly wiping up and excess that gets on the tile the whole time? There is no easy way for color sealing. Your gonna want those little bottles with a tiny brush at the end or a little roller. Oh and a grout sponge, and some knee pads!  bounce

Make sure its sanded grout your trying to CS.

I would try and go at least $125 / shower for color seal around $2.5sq/ft
Pitch it as an upgraded sealer as it will change the color and have anti mold properties, look kick ass, their friends will be jealous, etc.
With that being said you dont need to seal afterwards because it is a sealer.. a really good sealer at that.

While your at homedepot grab something called "Bar Keepers Freind" in a cream.. its used to polish metal, and will make her fixtures look better than new with just a "wax on, wax off"  dancing

Ok thanks, job went great. We pre treated, scrubbed with the crb, then ran the spinner

used a grout brush on the end of a pole for around the hard to reach spots

sealed it with du pont stone tech, I didnt have time to order anything online so I just grabbed it locally

did 3 bathrooms with 3 showers

started to get a little system down, now I know what other little hand tools I will want in the future
