I really like the looks of those projects, but I do hope you are wearing a mask when you craft those things. Fine plastic doesn't like to exit the lungs

Re: that plastic waste tank thing
My Masterblend El Diablo waste tank is leaking at the welded seams once again. This tank was replaced by MasterBlend 2 years ago for this issue. They just can't seem to get their sh*t together when building waste tanks, stainless steel is to brittle in my opinion, good selling point, bad execution. I wonder if plastic is a viable replacement option? What are those panels made from?
Re: that plastic waste tank thing
The El Diablo that I used for awhile had the same problem with the tank. I don't think it was the stainless steel's fault, just poor welding.
Re: that plastic waste tank thing
El Diablo's are pretty good machines. EZ to work on, economical to run. But unfortunately I would not buy another one because of the Stainless waste tank. My local dist. told me this was going to be a problem because of the SS. He said the welds are brittle with SS. He called it. He was approached by Masterblend to sell their units and told them" not with ss tanks, their will be problems. They have a newer Heat exchange unit, too bad they can't make a tank that won't leak. I will post a video of this for others looking to purchase an El Diablo by Masterblend.
PS. their tech support is second to none! If you have a problem they will talk you through it.

Sorry to hear about the tank Diablo. Any way you can a good welder redo the whole tank for you?
Re: that plastic waste tank thing
Just bad welding, that's all.

Re: that plastic waste tank thing
They ok welding on those. They should have installed corner supports. Also they have knuckle vac relief valves mounted on the tank which are notorious for getting out of adjustment. Those valves need to be installed directly on the blower plumbing and need oiling and adjusting very regularly. Putting them on the tank is causing the tank to bow in before the relief gets a chance to open. The constant flexing wears those welds out fast.
Re: that plastic waste tank thing
NO NO NO LOL
The SS is NOT the prob, and I doubt the welds are to blame either.
I'd put money on (not having yet seen one inside), it's not properly designed with enough bracing to minimize the flexing when under load.
Take a pic of the inside of the tank, and shoot a short video of the tanks movement when capping and uncapping the vac hose with your hand.......post those here, and I'll tell you for sure.
And it's a real easy fix for a fabricator or welder........just add the bracing needed to keep it from flexing so much, and you'll never a problem again.
I've got 22 years and 10,000 hours on a Stainless tank, and never had an issue.
Sure derailed the hell out of the plastic tank thread, with the El Diablo
talk.

Re: that plastic waste tank thing
Funny thing is that it didn't seem to happen on the older units, just the newer ones. It might be a lack of supports, but it comes down to a quality of build issue to me. Either weak welds or else they reduced the supports to save money, both are negatives to the end user.
I still like those machines, but a leaky tank is not a good thing.

Re: that plastic waste tank thing
It would be interesting to get a view of the tank inside to draw a conclusion on the cause. The one that I used was just re-welded where there were 2 splits...never happened again and it is still in the field for another cleaner.
