TNT Progress
Got the burner ring cleaned out today. For a guy still waiting for his glasses, it was a frustrating event for awhile. Getting that liitle wire into the injector hole was about to drive me insane until I learned the trick. For me, it was a matter of shining the light downt the injector from above while view for the orfice from the side of the injector instead of from the top. Then it was pretty easy to accomplish. Quite a bit of debris in there!
Next up was the waste tank. Inside was enough poly fuzz to make a sweater and about 5 lbs. worth of sand!! Didn't smell so great either. I had to dress out into haz-mat mask and gloves and get in there with both arms to pull out all that crap.
This is what happens when you only use a pump-out instead of cleaning out your tank once in awhile. It was pretty nasty and the neighbor's dog quickly took offense to it when he came around to watch me. Once it was cleaned out, a shop vac got the rest and then I went back and fogged it with sporicidin...much better.
Re: TNT Progress
nice, the auto pump out breeds nastyness, I wont mess with one ever again. 150 gal is enough room for way more cleaning than can be done in a day
we would pull our tank out of the van and pressure wash it every few months, but when you dump it daily or every other day because you have to it stays smelling like your rinse.

Re: TNT Progress
I was thinking about using it to fill a flower pot and see what grows
I didn't expect that much sand. They must have lived on the coastal side by the way that it looked. You can't see it, but there were a couple of fish hooks in that debris field as well.

Re: TNT Progress
Did you check the tank grate were you attach the blower pipe? Mine was full of gunk.

pump outs are great just use an inline filter clean the tank every other day.
I rinse mine at the end of every day never any problems.
I run an APO on my Butler, they can be very handy. The problem is that many cleaners are not like you and clean the tank daily...or even weekly/monthly/ever. Many are like this previous owner, drain the water, but never clean out the debris.
Re: TNT Progress
You guys can always run a poor man's pumpout. If you're just willing to turn the machine off, take a break, and get you some good, cold iced tea, you can build your own poor man's pumpout from Grainger's for about $100. You can use a 12 volt bronze head cintrifugal pump which is capable of moving trash. Unfortunately, cintrifugal pumps can not pump out against the vacuum, but if you turn the unit off, they work fairly well.

Hey, Great to see you post here, Les (or "More" as I like to call you)!!!
I've got a couple questions for you if you, related to things you said on video, if you would mind answering??
First, you mentioned in your Little Giant video, you run 1" gas line from tank to heater, if I'm not mistaken? And if that is correct, will we really see a benefit by doing so, over the 1/2" line LG recommends, when running a #3 heater?? Or more so with a #4 heater, where 5/8" line is recommended?
Second, in a video I saw from the ICE show you mentioned some kind of noise insulating blanket that will help reduce blower noise. Would you mind telling us what that's called, and where we can get it??
Thank you!,
Dave

Davey,
We run ¾ inch LP gas lines to the #3 and the #4. The reason we run the ¾ inch line to the #3 is because I buy a big giant spool of hose at one time. Instead of stocking two different sizes of hose, I just put a ¾ on both. The main thing to get maximum performance out of a #3 is to do the maintenance on the burner jets. Reset the thermostat if necessary, but only do this with me on the phone. Also, go to your LP regulator, remove the end cap, and turn the internal adjustment to the bottom. This will give you a couple more inches of water column gas pressure.
Now to answer your second question; the sound-deadening blanket that we use can be purchased from McMaster Carr in Atlanta. Search sound-deadening material. It's multi-layered with blankets and neoprene. The outter layer is foil and you can use standard foil duct tape for HVAC systems to hold it together. You guys need to call McMaster Carr and get a catalog anyway. They have everything under the sun you can imagine.

Good to see you posting Les! , Regarding your above statement,, (you may not remember me , was long time ago) BUT.....
I remember you spending about a half an hour on the phone with me about 4 or 5 years ago, when I was considering buying a hydra cat, ,,,
Following that phone call, you answered all my PM's helping me figure out what kind of oil to use on the blower and all the maintain stuff etc.,
Thank you again! It meant allot to me,, at the time I knew nothing of Truck mounts and knew no one else that could or would help me, (OP only guy) not many would spend that kind of time helping a guy out, when they had nothing to gain from it.

I have their 4" thick catalog and usually have more luck finding stuff on their website, but spent close to an hour last night looking for what Les described and could not find it!
I went threw all the sound insulating blankets and materials and never did find anything with "Neoprene"
