Ok, well I'm here. Was told about this place by Joe Bristor, so figured I'd drop in and see what all the noise was about.
OK, so a bit about me.
For the slower members, I'm from Australia. Only been in the industry for 3 years, and have learned a lot in that time. Having said that, it's probably also true to say that I know nothing.
I've made some (many!) mistakes along the way, and had some good successes too.
I run a McConnell Maxi-Steam truck mount (Australian manufacturer, so you probably haven't heard of them), and it's serving me very well.
I was a carpet salesman for about 15 years before deciding I hated it and wanted a change. I figured that I already had a crick in my neck from looking at people's cruddy floors for so long, that I may as well clean them whilst I was looking at them. So here we are.
I'm reasonably active on 1 Australian carpet cleaning forum, and am reasonably heavily involved with the industry as a whole as far as being a managerial part of a small but active industry association.
I've never been on any other carpet cleaning forums, including the usual suspects such as Mikeys Board or TMF etc. They seem to be the ones I hear about the most, but I've never had the urge to look at them.
If there are any other Aussies on here, that frequent the Aussie boards, then they probably know me. Maybe not.
Are there any other Aussies here?

So, as I said, I'm still a noobie really, so may not understand what some of your terminology or acronyms mean, so please be gentle. I'm fresh. Not stupid.

Glad to see your post Crash and hope you will be a frequent poster. I've said it in the past that all boards are full of members that know how to clean, but not many who really know about the carpets that they are cleaning.

We tried to start a section dedicated to that very thing, but it fizzled out...mainly because we didn't have that member yet. Maybe you will be that member and this will once again gain traction.

Inside information about what the manufacturers are doing, why people buy what they do, where is the industry trending, etc. could help us stay ahead of the curve.

Give it some thought and once again, welcome to the neighborhood. Very Happy

Welcome Crash!

You wont go wrong with that injector kit mine is still going strong.
Would recommended Joe's RC99 inline filter and his pressure lines next time you order.

Hi Crah
I am a carpet cleaner based in Melb. Been around for 34 yrs an still learning.
I can vouch for this forum as I think it's one of the best around.
As far as Joe is concerned, he is definetely an interesting character. [In a good way]. Always helpful and he knows his stuff. Wikipedia for carpet cleaners I reckon. Just got to know how to talk to him. I have been dealing with him for a while now.
Anyway welcome aboard.
Cheers

My injector block and bits and pieces arrived today, and I was finally able to use my sprayer again. I'm so over using my backup hand pump sprayer!
