June wanders Video Contest

This is a qtr round up month. $100 wanders month winner and the 2nd qtr $350 winner. Last month was a slow month lacking the needed creativity. Newbies this could be your month, you could win both with one unique video. Good Luck!

that's right Ryan. Not much competition this 2nd Qtr.
There's $600 bucks goin to one or two cleaners at the end of this month.
It doesn't have to be new or fancy or complicated or anything special.
It just needs to teach us something; hopefully something you're pretty good at.
You want to be able to say to yourself 'self... every cleaner out there will benefit from my video!' Then just go do it. One try is all it will take if it's real.
Hint: It helps to have words in with the video, either words embedded in the video or spoken words.

Example: I just talked to guy, kinda new to cleaning, well not really, but new enough to still have some passion in his voice.
He explained his wanding process to me; like I haven't seen and done it every way you can think of.
Well, when he was done, I wanted to kick myself for not having been there to video him as he went through the motions.
Someday, I swear I gotta get back out on the road and catch you guys in action.

It's almost impossible to shot a video when you work alone like I do.

I do have a camera though that you can wear like a headband, never really used it but I'm sure it would work.
I'm think those videos Terry does where he's pointing and reaching could work good if the camera was right there where he was pointing. Just like a headlamp.

in the first clip it was set just a tad low where it was actually lifting the 2x2 tiles off the ground( you can hear when it does) So much airflow  

To me, I really get excited about vacuuming. I had one of my regular customers tell the cleaner not to vacuum cause she knows I take it very serious.

I agree with you Davey...when solo it is hard to think about filming things.  I could hire a guy to ride-along and film, but I am really not that interesting.  It would be nothing but 20 minutes of me humming the theme song to My three Sons

Haha, yea you know me, Mr. Monotone and I sound like you according to what you said, Rob.  So that's just another reason for me to avoid being on video too lol, along with no one to shoot the video, like you.

Some people have been complaining about their belts not lasting long in their everests, here's how to extend your belt's life and also to cool down your driver and passenger's cabin in he summer, I'm talking about up to 20 degrees cooler with the fan going.

Excellent video Dp, it was detailed and provided a great solution to a problem.

On a future project, you might want to consider covering the plywood with vinyl bath panels instead of staining. I covered my garage with those panels and it really worked out well and are very easy to keep clean.

Auto pump out how too

Hey another one with good detail.
It's becoming more obvious that we need you guys wearing headlamp cameras but don't you guys think a guy could actually get 'er done with those instructions?

Very helpful videos and yes, they are detailed to the point that anyone could replicate the work.

Don't see that too much on other boards...thumbs up guys.

I have ZERO experience with a pump-out, Sooo I was thinking it'd be nice to have some light in there to be able to see and visualize how it's connected on your TM.   I may have to give it a try, might be a nice deal after being a long time manual dumper. LOL

Also, it left me with some unanswered questions for a pump-out "newbie" like me.   

Can you use this to pump out waste water when the TM is running and you're working?
How long does it take to pump out 75-100 gallons threw that 3/4" hose?

Glad u guys like it.. getting organized, making the list with part numbers etc, and getting the parts again took longer than expected.
Yes you can Craker. .. Once u have at least 6 inches of waste water it should be just fine.
That exact pump is rated at 200 gallons per hour.. so around 30 minutes for 100 gallons.. They have a lot more pumps that are more powerful if u want it faster. I can start dumping on my last room and it's done when I'm done wrapping up. The phrase you look for on a pump is GPH that's gallons per hour.

As for hooking it up u just put the primer then glue then shove that white piece into your lift/dump gate, wait for it to dry and then connect everything else and done.

I'm thinking I should sent my headband camera to Charlie but Davey was the only one who spoke up.

If not, then maybe you could offer it to Charlie. I just can't imagine anyone trying to assemble a pump-out one-handed, much less explain it at the same time.  Seems like two hands would be so much easier and useful to the viewer.

Charlie do you have float switches to activate or are you going out and manually turning the pump-out on?

No office but I wouldn't wear the video camera head mount .. i will eventually get a tripod for my phone. Or just get a go pro and get a couple of mounts so I can put it anywhere I want.

Because i have such a small tank I just dump after every job so I just have a manual switch. I suppose I could just put one a foot up my tank to save time. But I also like to release a bypass to cool down my heater anyway on the last room.
