Rain Gutter cleaning service as an ad one

I need to cleaning my rain gutters they're full of pine needles. Some of the gutter are kind of high and it looks like you can purchase extensions. The going rate for this service is $1.00-$2.00 per linear foot.

Anybody offer this add on? The equipment I see on line are similar to truckmount. I wonder if you can just add a receptacle just for debris king of like a silver bullet only way bigger

you could do it with a tm,    but I would rather just use a shop vac and not risk anything with tm.  

I wouldnt think there is much risk but just wouldnt put the tms through that.  

pretty easy to make one of those sky vacs,    then u just need the long extensions


around here it is very very messy work especially in the season when its needed,    tm hoses would get filthy dirty

Nikro makes some really nice containers or else you could convert a 55 gallon drum into a nice catch for cheap.

Seems like an interesting service, but I hate gutter cleaning enough that even if being paid, I would avoid it. I spent a summer designing a gutter with a trap door bottom that you could just unlatch and dump the debris...simple, but it was too difficult to reproduce compared to the current gutter machines.

I think you would be better off hooking up with the local trash guy and offer a trash can cleaning service instead. Everyone has one and everyone's stink in the summer...kind of like what you did with the dumpster cleaning.

I guess the gutters might not be too bad in arizona.     In seattle it would be the same as sucking mud

if anyone lives in an area affected by drought, I would be offering controlled pressure washing... right now in california its the only way you can pressure wash

there are so many advantages to that service,

your ads would show regular pressure washing walkways and flooding flowerbeds/lawns, then side by side the nice clean pressure washing with recovery

you can advertise that you get better results with steam, and by using green chemicals which are recovered, graffiti removal, patios, etc etc

That's a good idea, and prob only take a giant RC99 and a dust downer added to your TM, to do it.  

Maybe an RC9,999?   

55 gallon drums are cheap, all you'd need is a port conversion, a big Liner and a good seal.
Wanna bet I couldn't make & sell one for $99 and still make a profit?

After watching the video again, it looks like they are using both a Nikro vac and an Abatement Technologies model. Neither is too cost prohibitive, but I would go with Nikro...they are having a sale right now anyway.

I don't think a shop vac is going to be enough suck some of those machines are pulling 600 CFM. I would imagine you would want to suck as mush crap out of the gutters before you have pressure wash them. I could just picture all that nasty water falling on your head.

Raincoats definitely the uniform of choice. Might even go all out and dress like the Gorton Fisherman!

That would be nice if all you had to do was add a light weight 55 gallon drum. Maybe the liner could be one of those industrial size and strength garbage bags?

What I wouldn't like is climbing up a ladder because you would want to clean the roof too at an additional cost of course

I would also hate to agitate the wasp nests that would certainly be present....I still think it needs some sort of blade front to dig into the packed mud. Even with great vac (Your are right Mo, Nikro's best is about 350 cfm), can you really pull that layer up with a round tube? I use my gardening tool to dig it out.

The interior usage might actually be the better service. A tool like that would be great to dust the walls and screen of movie theaters...and you would only need a Nikro drum vac to power it. I could see that being a nice easy money move.

Check out this nifty IRobot for gutter cleaning. I wonder if it really works. I don't think it could remove the hard packed dirt. Gimmick?

Real world

I vote gimmick.

Looks like a student project at M.I.T, neat, but not really practical nor effective. Sure, it dug through it, but it took longer than a garden tool and tended to jumped off the tracks.

It might be cool in a robot battle though
