Nope. She is my former office girl.

Single and unemployed.

Bill, this is off topic but if you don't mind me asking how do you pay her ? Just hourly or hourly plus commission ? Also is she only answering the phone or she also does paperwork too ?

First of all I had to let her go when I downsized back in June (let her go beginning of September) so I'm not currently paying her anything.

Mainly I was just paying her $11/hour, however I did have her running specific marketing campaigns at times where she would find neighborhoods, print up mailers, send them out and schedule the jobs when they called. For these campaigns I would pay her 10% of operating profit. So if the campaign was a failure e.g. low response didn't fully cover postage, labor, etc. she would get no commission. I let her process all the stuff on the clock.

She answered phone, wrote tickets kept inventory, cleaned the shop, did reminder calls and made calls to client list to generate business when we were slow. She also calculated payroll but I would do the actual processing of that.

I also paid her for up-sell, for example if she pitched protector to a customer I would give her a % of that. It was kind of the honor system as to whether she actually pitched it or the customer just asked for it but I got to the point where I pretty much trusted her completely.
