I've cleaned many RV's over the years.  But yesterday did something a bit different, cleaned the carpet in a full sized bus, full sized being 45' long, just like a Greyhound or tour bus.  It is owned by a Co. called "HK Army" which is a clothing and equipment manufacture for the paintball industry.  They have used the bus for mostly promotional stuff the last 5 yrs. and are now prepping it to get it really to sell.

As big as it was there was really only about 100' sq ft or less of carpet in it............but man was it a mess, luckily it has black carpet, but GUM was EVERYWHERE!!  It was a total mess!!.......I guess those paintball shooting kids/guys are some serious gum chewers, and throw it on the carpet'ers!! laughing

Here's a pic of it, but I didn't get any of the messed up carpet........

BTW, I was told it gets about 6 miles to the gal on the highway. lol

Wow, 6 miles to the gallon, that means it needs 100 gallons from here to Vegas and back, that's crazy !
How long did it take you to clean that ?

I spent 2 hrs cleaning it, twice+ as long as it should have taken......because of all the time I spent removing gum, with no heat basically. lol wasn't funny at the time though. laughing

How much are you charging that size motor home ? I've cleaned a couple of them in the past including one that needs carpets, upholstery and the curtains top liner ( don't know what they call that ), they're all a pita to work on.

This HK bus which was just carpet, in the front section and back and like I said was 100 or less sf. I got $180 for.....and not enough, as I found out! On regular larger sized motor-homes where I'm cleaning carpet, dining cushions, and a sofa type thing, I'm getting $250-300 range. You gotta remember some of these "diesel pusher" (bus) type R'v's can cost 200k plus, so there's not usually a shortage of cash when dealing with those who own them....so charge accordingly! wink

"Top liner" on drapes would more then likely be what's called the "Valance". wink

Valance, that's right !
I agree with you, just the other day I had a call for RV cleaning ( carpets only ) and when I told him $ 175, he told me "no thank you" ha..ha... I almost tell him I'll give you $ 50 discount if you do the work Laughing

Yea, there's cheap ass everywhere and from all financial backgrounds, just the way it is. Let him call Jose', he will do a $hitty/over-wet job for $75 and he'll 'save' $100 lol, and then the guy will be left wondering what you would have done for a fair price.

It's been a couple years since I didn't do an RV job because of price, and I do quiet a few a year....oh well can't win them all.

I will sometimes flat out tell people on the phone, if it's the cheapest price you're looking for, then I'm not your guy, but if you want the best job, then I am! ........let them decide, that's the good thing about having plunty of work/calls, you don't have to be desperate like Jose' laughing
