Blow over anyone?
I did a blow over today on my blower, removed the waste tank lid and fine lint filter. poured warm water into the blower from the waste tank and let it blow out the exhaust. Followed by copious amounts dw-40. Must be a better lubricant to use. Do you guys regularly perform blowovers? What lubricant do you use to lube the impellers?
Re: Blow over anyone?
Did on a year ago just keep running the blower the being generated will displace the blower. It might be time for another
Re: Blow over anyone?
I used to do it monthly on my butler....probably why the silencer rusted out so fast.
The blower will certainly dry itself just by letting run for several minutes, but I can't say the same for the silencers. If you can, I would remove any silencer from the system first and then blast away.

By the way, that is still my favorite video to date. Your expression when that hose shot off was killer.
Re: Blow over anyone?
How often are you supposed to do that ? And I personally use LPS lubricant for my blowers.

Yea, the water just sits in the bottom of the silencer and rust it out..........That's the reason I had to repair mine, it actually prob should have been replaced, but the repair should get me a couple more yrs out of it.

LPS Lubricant? Whats that dang stuff? No silencer on an El Diablo, now worries about rust.
Re: Blow over anyone?
I think Butler recommended monthly, but now they are using SS silencers for a reason. I'm patching one up right now that should get me another couple of years as well.
The LPS sprays are great stuff...the entire line of them. In the nuclear power plants, that is the only stuff you will find being used to lubricate items. For an industry that will waste more money than a small country, they will always buy the best stuff...LPS seems to be it.
I think Granger sells the stuff, but I would have to look.

Without a silencer, what keeps it from being louder than hell?......or is it??

Only ear plugs on the one I'm associated with. You don't want to stand in front of it very long.
Re: Blow over anyone?
Look at the can of spray you are using it should say that it displaces moisture if not use something else. Then run the unit to dry out the system.
BTW wd40 is a rust preventive not a lubricant. Recommended by PC it will work just don't over do it.

I switched to LPS a couple of years ago and wouldn't go back, that stuff is used in aircrafts maintenance, find your local distributors from their website.
Oh, did I mention no silicone in that ?

That is why Butler switched to Stainless Steel boxes.
Lots of crud gets piled up in a blower.
