Grounding Concerns Empty Grounding Concerns

I feel stupid in asking this question as I should know the answer, but I keep doubting myself.  So, it is time to show my stupidity and get some cover before I damage something.

The TNT project is nearly complete (minus the heater install) with just some minor tweaks to complete tomorrow.  The problem is that I'm not sure I have good wire grounds.  The tm is resting on urethane pucks which is bolted to an aluminum cargo box, so there probably isn't any grounding there.  That leaves the battery ground as the only real ground in the system.

Here is what is wired now, and why I am concerned.

1.  The fuel pump is grounded to the battery post
2.  The transfer pump is also grounded to the battery post
3.  The motor is grounded to the battery post.
4.  I added a fuel gauge which grounds to the back of the dash panel where it bolts to the frame.
5.  The pump out will need to ground to the battery post as well, but isn't connected yet.

I'm thinking about attaching a piece of angled steel to the battery post, drilling several holes, and then terminating all these items directly to it, but I'm not sure if that is a good idea.

My main concerns are:

1.  Do I need to ground the frame to the truck's chassis?
2.  Can I ground that gauge to the tnt frame like that or not?
3.  Will that terminal strip on the battery create a problem with weak grounds?

Maybe the sun just got to me today, but I can't think straight.

No you don't need to ground everything to the battery post. The battery is grounded to the engine and the engine is bolted to the tank and unit frame there for any where on the frame should be a ground for the system. So that answers your other question, yes you can ground the Guage to the frame.

Grounding Concerns Empty Re: Grounding Concerns

You can't hear me through this computer, but there was a big sigh right now.

I started out thinking that way, but I was reminded of my old jeep with the aluminum body and what a pain it was to ground, then I started to question this project.

Excellent, now I just have to deal with my belly tank and regulator to start this truck rolling.  I just have to adjust my water tank mount and add some hose hangers before I can fire it up and see just how loud this thing is going to sound.

Thanks for the speedy answer ACE....I feel much better.
