For you guys that own the SS Upholstery Pro. Have you guys switched out that needle valve? I'll be cleaning a piece and have to check to make sure the valve has not moved to the closed position. It's a pain cause you'll be cleaning and not rinsing.

Can I just remove that valve and install a ball valve instead?

I have yet to encounter a problem with my SS tool....maybe I have just been lucky. I take that back, my hose has been a problem at the plastic piece near the cuff, but never the needle valve.

Buy a new needle valve and just replace it. You wouldn't like the shut off valve idea, just not enough control.

Does it have the protective sleeve on it?

We have that on ours, but honestly hardly every really wrap it up around it....

And yet, we don't have problems with it moving.

We do keep out vans at 500 psi....don't know if that helps so it keep more pressure on the needle....

I had it at 150 psi on furniture today and 350 psi detailing some steps.

Needle never gave me a problem.

No, I've never had issues with it and just letting you know that valve isn't cheap, if you change it to a regular shut off valve, you can open it halfway or a quarter of the way too but if you use the wrap, the wrap would still move the valve as you move around and snag the tool around. If you take the valve completely you can just adjust the pressure from the machine.

The valve is supposed to be somewhat stiff so it's not supposed to open and close with regular movement / snagging the tool around while cleaning. If it's not stiff anymore then it might be time to change ?

It's funny, but I never used the wrap and just left the valve unprotected....wonder if maybe the heat cooks it wrapped up?

Can't be too expensive to replace....surely one of these would work.

Yeah I wrap mine but it doesn't close all the way. Maybe I should use a Mytee wrap instead.

I think I'll buy a new one. I have to stop buying shoot

Its a good tool but since its release better ones have come out.

Having the pressure adjust on the tool itself just makes a lot more sense, we also never wrap ours with the velcro sleeve because the valve never stays in place too long and during a large couch cleaning will need to be readjusted at least once.

Its not a big deal just a little annoying, still makes upholstery 10x better than using an old stainless tool
