Persian rug dilemma.
This is somehow related to Rob's "old vs classic" thread, I got a call from a customer yesterday and she asked how much to clean an 8 x 10 Persian rug, I told her $ 240, she immediately freaked out, she said she got it cleaned last couple times for $ 60, lol, I asked her where she bought it and how much, she bought the rug new from her best friend for $ 1500, she said her friend bought it in the middle east and brought it here, I told her most likely it's the real deal and that she got a really good deal, I also told her that if she had it done a couple of times for $ 60, the rug must've bled, she said no, I told her to look very closely especially the lines where the darker dyes meets the lighter dyes, she insisted no, I said okay, I can't lower the price.
She called earlier today and told me how I was right, the dye bled all over, lol, I explained to her how it happened and she scheduled an appointment with me.
It's not 8 x 10 but 6 x 9, still 162 bucks, I told her I can't do anything with the dye damage ( she's Asian, you know how expectation goes with those types, lol ).

Re: Persian rug dilemma.
She got a GREAT deal on that rug and ruined it seeking a cheap deal in cleaning.....lesson learned.
In my opinion, you are charging too little to clean a Persian, but I guess there is little risk for you since the damage has already been done by others.
