How low can you go ?
If you guys have a customer ask for an estimate, asian family that don't walk with their shoes ANYWHERE in their house, not even barefeet, they changed their outdoor shoes / sandals right before they enter, carpets are spotless, 7 rooms, furnished, about 1000 - 1200 sq ft cleanable areas, plus 17 steps of stairs, the job can be done in an hour and a half ( one man labor ), I know every market has a different on going rate, just curious how low can you go ?

Re: How low can you go ?
I would think $225 is a fair price. We do work with two guys and that job would take us about an hour and a half.

Re: How low can you go ?
I'm dead serious Mo, absolutely no pre treatments necessary, even if you forget to turn your detergents on, you won't notice the difference and I seriously doubt it's going to take you 3 hours to do it, I knocked it down in an hour and a half and I took my time too, if I'm in a hurry I can do it in an hour and fifteen mins :-)Mo wrote:$301.50 but it would take me three hours to complete

Re: How low can you go ?
I did it for $ 270 :-) with a thought if they hassled me for that price, I'm walking out They didn't and the way they asked questions, I told them before I started, if you have any more questions now is the time to ask them, once I start I can't stop and answer any questions.

That's a generous cash discount Terry, after they realized it's cash or charge only ( I don't take check, period ), they asked me for cash discount, I gave them 5 % offODIN wrote:

Re: How low can you go ?
Geezzzzzz I can't compete with you guys, cost of living is too high down here by the beach!
I mean I just did an easy commercial encap job for .28 sf that was 7310 sf.
1000 sf residential would be at .34 sf min.
So $340 plus 17 stairs $68 min. Total $408 or more, or else I'd be out!
Prob 3-4 hr job.

Re: How low can you go ?
if it's going to take me 3 - 4 hours, I would've charge them at least $ 600 seriously Dave, that was the easiest job I've ever done in my cleaning career, btw that's a very good chunk of income from that encap job, congratsDavey Cracker wrote:Geezzzzzz I can't compete with you guys, cost of living is too high down here by the beach!

I was just figuring typical 1000 sf res. job, but if it could be done in under 2 hrs like you guys are talking, I'd be in for less.
I just look at it this way, you can start high and come down, but starting low and going up doesn't work as well. ......I'm still close to the beach ya know!
Like someone already basically said, what I'm willing to work for depends on how busy I am!

Re: How low can you go ?
I agree with Odin. But then again, I realized a long time ago my chances of becoming [financially] rich are pretty slim. .
You guys are getting $200+ an hour - I may need to consider moving the West Coast... Oh yeah I forgot, your cost of living is probably 50% - 60% more than on this side of the country .

Yea, really high cost of living, so I'm not gettin' rich over there either!carpetdaddy wrote:I agree with Odin. But then again, I realized a long time ago my chances of becoming [financially] rich are pretty slim. .

Protector? That's a through cleaning for sure and worth the .50/ft. What is your time of production on this type job? Thanks for the second attempt.
