Have you ever noticed that if you get too close to a wall in a commercial building, you end up pulling gypsum from behind the base moulding, but you don't on residentials? It has been showing up a lot lately and it drives me nuts. The question is why? Why does it happen in one type of construction and not the other?

Don't even get me started on talc-based carpet powders, either!!

Yes, Mil I have it happen on commercial GD with vinyl base cove all the time.

I'm not positive but I think since the 'kick out' on the base cove where it meets the carpet is easily pushed in by the wand the mess never cleaned up after construction (drywall dust, from sanding) gets exposed and the strong vac pulls it out.............but I could be wrong!?Question Laughing Maybe it's just the GD carpet?

I know, it is very annoying tho!!

l have had it happen in house's over here in Australia. Usually only in fairly new houses it happens in.
l just try and keep a couple of centimeters away from the skirting boards so l don't suck it out from underneath on effected houses.
Not common but very annoying.

Probably the chinese sheetrock that was being used for several years; before the public found out about it.
