Post by milspec6 Fri Nov 15, 2013 7:04 pm

I received a phone call today from a customer who needs 5400 sqft of carpet cleaned after a renter moved out. Here is how it went:

Me: No problem, do you know what type of carpet you have?
Cust: I think it was a nylon...about 5 years old.
Me: Are there any stains or areas that concern you?
Cust: Yes, there is an olive oil stain.
Me: How large of a stain?
Cust: About the size of 2 basketballs.
Me: That is a lot of oil, how did you manage to spill so much oil?
Cust: Long story.
Me: Did it stain your kitchen tile as well or is that carpeted too?
Cust: The stain isn't in the kitchen.
Me: The olive oil stain the size of 2 basketballs isn't in the kitchen?
Cust: No, it is in the Master Bedroom.
Me: (speechless)

This should be an interesting cleaning job next week...

That size of a stain probably penetrated the padding and into the sub flooring. Roll up your sleeve and pull out the water claw, for starters. There is a large percentage that wicking will occur. Get ready to water claw over and over again.

Charge accordingly!

Oh yes, and wear gloves.

I saw that imprint on a golf green one Saturday morning. Had feet prints running around the green.
