I hate to say this, but there is a new product from Chlorox that targets the yellow gold that keeps many of us in business. I just saw a demonstration of it on tile beneath a urinal and it was pretty good for an all-in-one product. Good enough that many in-house janitorial staff will look like a hero with little effort and it might spread into the residential market at some point.

I would keep an eye on it in your area, a client will ask you about it one day....just a heads up.

I don't think it will catch on most folks maybe a little apprehensive about putting a product that has the Colorox name on their carpet. The MSDS says it's 1-5& Hydrogen Peroxide most carpet cleaning urine stain removers contain more than that. Sallys 40 volume is 12% HP

Excellent point about the "Chlorox" name and using it on carpet. Most customers would associate the name with bleach and that would discourage many from even attempting. The peroxide level is low compared to our arsenal, but it can still be effective when paired with the other elements.

They haven't started advertising heavily yet and the internet reviewers are pretty silent at this point, but it will heat up by spring. I think you have hit on the 2 great points for when a cleint does ask you about it.

I think I might order some to see how it works. If it works ok could always add a bit of h2o2. Quill.com has it for 16.99/gallon with free shipping. If nothing else I will know what to tell the customers when they ask about it.

Pretty smart thinking Dan, it is good to keep an open mind and to study the opposition. Customers will ask you about it once they start advertising more, I am certain of that.

Urine Stains Empty Re: Urine Stains

I think the ones that will ask are the ones who always use resolve, folex, nature's miracle, etc, and for those it doesn't really matter what you say, they will try them anyway, the only exception is the one who has 2 stains and they only treated one, which happened to me a couple days ago, guess what, the pee stains that she treated with nature's miracle stay and the one she didn't treat completely gone, she was amazed and swear that she will not spray anything on her carpets again but she's one of a kind, who would spray some spotter only on one stain and not the other ??
Regardless, that's a great info Rob, hope we'll see Dan's review about it soon :-)

Yes sir. All the time. I always ask to see the bottle responsible. It's kinda sick, but it really help remind them who is the professional.

Urine Stains Empty Re: Urine Stains

Post by Danb Sat Jan 18, 2014 11:09 am

Ok I have now used this clorox stuff on two houses. Both with dog urine. It works really well and took the majority of the stains out (there were a lot of them). It has a decent fragrance as well. On the down side I used a ton of defoamer because it foams up pretty bad when extracting it. The sprayer that comes with the gallon jug is pretty worthless and cheap. I ended up just pouring it on the stains rather than fighting with the sprayer. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the feedback Dan. It sounds like the consumer using this product may experience resoiling issues. Does it contain optical brighteners?
