Why doesn't any of the "other" crb machines like the Duplex or Minuteman units get any mention on the boards? Since they have water tanks (some even steam), it would seem like a good candidate to water feed the encap or prespray during the agitation process (not sure how big the tanks are though). You would still be using counter-rotating brushes and you have a wide variety of brushes available so it would seem like capable units...albeit a little heavy in comparison.
I am starting to learn towards a Duplex 420 for a spring purchase to provide some agitation duties on carpet and for usage on hard floors in medical clinics. Anyone have any experience with one of these units? I never hear anything about them...what, no good?

I'll go with T on this one more or less, some of the best, most reliable equipment I've ever found rarely get mentioned if at all on "the boreds"

Sounds like we need to change that....there are probably guys out there new to this industry who have never used a 175 or ever heard of a Cyclo. It seems that there are tools out there from various industries that we could make good use of if we kept an open mind.

Could be, but unfortunately, experience is the best teacher.

I have owned a Duplex for about 6 years, it is a very good machine. You can adjust the depth of the brushes and it has a dirty water pick up that can be turned off and on. Works great on hard surface floors too. The only negative about the machine is it is awkward to carry in my option.

Do you really need to carry it? I thought it had built-in wheels and a wheeled tray.
Does it dig up animal hair very well on carpets like a whittaker?

The wheels you use for transport hook on the side they are bulky when moving around the entry of a home. The wheels that are built under the machine are for use inside the home, they don't work well on sidewalks. So I found it easier to just carry it from the truck to the home.

Re: CRB Stepchild
duplex looks cool the only thing i see from the video is you have to use an alan wrench to take off the brushes...
for a crb you gotta remove those brushes everytime you use it and sometimes while you are using it... not a huge deal but it would get annoying and it looks like a bulky machine almost 2x the size of a regular crb
