The best carpet cleaning wand.
Let's face it, different situation requires slightly different wand, but if you have to choose to have one carpet cleaning wand in the van, what would it be ? And why ? Kinda give your short reviews about it please.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
For vacant and big homes I'd like the most the Evolution wand w/ HSK from JB. Light and suck like nothing else. I have as well VT14 hybrid glide, PC quad and and AW 29. The Evo is by far the best choice for my body and the performance is excelletnt.
Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
wow thats the first good review I ever heard of the evo, most bash it hard.
I like the VTs but dont have much experience with other types. I think a 12in swivel would be nice for more compact townhomes.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
I have used AW29, PMF 422, PMF titanium 12" and 16", prochem quad jet and prochem titanium, so far my favorite is PMF titanium 16" with HSK from JB, it's light and maneuverability is awesome, did my own carpets with it a couple of times and dry times is 2 - 3 hours, nylon with thin padding on a slab concrete.
I also like the prochem titanium but haven't used it enough to put it at the top of the list.
Oh I also used a PMF with the trigger handle on the top, that's top on my hated wand list, I can't stand trigger handle being on the top, the fittings kept burning my wrist.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
I have used the Mytee Bentley, PCQ, PMF Mach 15 (pimped), VT12, and a Butler 4-jet. I use the PMF the most by far, but if I could only choose one...it would probably be the PCQ or maybe the VT12.
Why? They have small heads that maneuver under and around objects well, can double as a long stair tool, have good vac recovery, and they are paid for!

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
I have a Evo 16 wand and it is awesome, it is MADE for wide open work, if you take it to a occupied home you wont like it.
The Evo is very quiet, compared to other wands, light weight, and wide to really help cover some sf.
The Draw back to the EVO jet set up is just dumb, too high and does not spray to edge of wand, can be fixed with different jets. I could see JB's HSK being a very good addition to this wand.
The glide is okay, I believe it is delrin (black plastic) and it does not glide across the carpet like a teflon glide, the head is plastic, to some this is a draw back...I have had no issues with it. Can also be a little hard to remove debris (hair) that does seem to get caught up inside the head. The wand is a little long I am 5' 11" and it is just I feel a tad bit to long.
LAST they sell this wand saying it is easy to use....For as quiet, light as it is it HAS AMAZING SUCTION and really gives you a work out, being that it is longer it puts your shoulder and wrist through a pretty good work out.
I would give it a 7 out of a 10

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
Wp 14 ss
Great all around wand, add a glide to it and that is about all you need. The head being sheet formed the wand slot tends to narrow down under vac, I put some extra washers on the wand bridge to keep it open and that seemed to help a lot. Being that it is a WP it has a great soft touch valve.
The only real draw back is the weight it is kinda heavy. I don't think a HSK upgrade kit is worth it on this wand as it puts jets way to close to the carpet, so the jets need to be in tip top shape or you will get corn rows at the first sign of wear on the jets, and not much adjustment at all due to the tube location on the head.

This was my first wand upgrade purchase years ago, still have it today.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
Pc Quad,
Not much can be said, it is a PC wand.
Small, good cleaning and recovery, heavy as hell, built like a tank..can drive those protruding base board nails back in place no problem.
This wand came with my Legend purchase....Never get rid of it, it is my back up wand on my van always has been.
Remove the glide when you need to suck up tons of top debris on the carpet to make better time on empties that would break your vacuum because to much crap has been left on the carpet.
Great furnished home wand easy to get around stuff due to its size.
10 out of a 10 It does its job very well for its design and size NEVER had any issues with it EVER, still looks as good as it did when I got it.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
PMF Mach 15
I traded a wand for a PMF Ti,...I sold it at ICE show. Just did not care for the wand.
Can't give any good and any bad input really, mostly because I just didn't like to LOOKS of the wand so I think it is just because of my personal preference about the wand so I may not give a far review.
If it would have performed better than maybe it would have changed my feelings enough to get over the bulky looks and feel of the wand.
Some love it, so I don't think I have the right to judge it as my feelings are petty.

Wp TI
I personally feel IT IS NOT a improvement over there WP 14 ss.
Way to thin of material used, and the wand is way to light to settle on the carpet. Jets were not right on the one I tried, but I did not try and fix the jets or put any more time into the wand, due to it being to head light and not settling down to the carpet, used it in one room of carpet, took it off the hose and redid the room with my other wand to recover the left behind water, due to it being so head light it did not seal to the carpet very well at all, sold it at ICE also.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
The wand that comes off the truck on every job is the 1 1/2" evo. We bought the jet kit from joe and everything about it rocks. Great coverage with the jet kit, dry time are good and light weight makes it easy on the body. We also have the 2" model, but the size of the tube make it more difficult to hold and pull the spray trigger.
Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
The best wand is the VT12 its also the only wand I have ever used
Looks like Tom knows his wands
Youkmow Kleen I have always wondered how much more comfortable it would be to clean with a 1 1/2" wand. I have heard the the evo shafts are prone to breaking.

My vt 12 with my ergo wand kit is the best i have used so far. Light weight and you can cut the shaft to customize it!!!

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
I keep on my guys reminding them to treat the evo gently. It wont handle the beating a metal wand takes, but even though we have metal wands with glides on the truck, the evo is the wand of choice by everyone.
Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
WP 14, does the job. But my arms are starting to tire half way thru a day. A lighter wand would be nice.
Aw29, used it a few times. Good for tight spaces and its lite. But 12" vs 14" for empty places.... the WP is the one.
Have a butler 16" with glide, just haven't gotten around to using it. The evo 16 sounds nice.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
I'm not a wand expert, and the reason I haven't yet replied. But I'm surprised(kind of) at some of the responses.
Just shows you only know, what you've tried, I guess?.....Hell I don't know. and the reason I don't feel I have enough different wand experience to answer this question.
I know the best I've used, but that doesn't mean it's "the best".

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
Seems like the Evo got pretty good reviews here, I held it before at the distributor's place but have never used it in cleaning, it's super light, I've also hardly see the used one for sale, like some of you are saying here, it seems and felt like the glide sucks, it doesn't glide very well.
I'm surprised Rob likes the PCQ, I hate that wand, it's super heavy and hard to maneuver, it does go under furnitures easy though.
I also am inclined to like Dave's wand, which is pretty much the swivel wand loaner but without the swivel. I also like what he did to it which shaved off some unnecessary fittings and shave some weight off of it, that wand got some serious cfm, I hope you see this review Tony, especially those fittings, they're annoying, lol.

LOL Your the second person who said that today. I have only used the 12" the last year and have no idea what type of wand it is, now its time to try 18" on commercial carpet. I'll be happy when I can afford to get the in between s.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
I wish I would have taken a picture but the spray bar is made from a square white material http://www.butlersystem.com/store/wand-manifolds-5jet-stainless-p-362.html
or what ever and has 5 jets the right and left out side jets protrude closer to the carpet and the three inside jets are right on the bar further away from the carpet. it would be nice to have a 2 inch
