Ahh there we go, nice big picture you don't have to click on to open.
That monster wand makes that AW-29 look like a tiny stair tool. :albino:

Thanks Dave, After using the aw-29 to wand our church, 2.5 hrs, which is much larger then this picture, it should go a little quicker hopefully.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
You need a lot of suck to use that wand but I bet you can cover some ground with it

I was thinking it would need alot of suction and I dont know if the little kitty(chemtex panther) can handle it especially on the amount of feet I kneed to get into the sanctuary at almost a total of 210 feet max because of the entry way and access.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
That is a large wand, the butler will handle it, but I can't imagine it being any good for anything except wide open spaces.
Don't try and use it like a traditional wand, I would operate it like a drag wand. That will give it better heat as well. Nothing wrong with a 12 inch wand head, despite the hype, it is still a capable size for most situations.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
Any videos on how to operate a drag wand, I sure need to learn. My friend who I got it from said it wears peoples arms out so there must be a proper way to move it.

Nothing to it, just walk backwards about 10 feet at a time trigger wide open. Then go back up as a dry stroke, shift to a new row and repeat. On a heat exchange unit, the heat will be excellent. The trick is just finding the right pace....have to play with that a little.
I clean most of my commercial with that method and a 15 inch wand. Works very well and a lot easier on the body than a chop stroke.

Wonderful, I'll post pic at that time.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
id be a little worried about the 1.5inch tube on an 18inch head.
someone should make a 20inch wand, not big on drag wands... just want one like your 18inch there but with a 2inch tube.
I need a 12inch also, too many damn townhomes here and they are a pain to work on.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
1. It would have to have a 2" tube, more straight than normal.ACpower1 wrote:is there a 20inch wand out there?
would be cool to cover some serious empties
2. The vac slot would have to be narrower, to concentrate the cfm/lift.
(I installed a glide on my 14" wp. But it was not totally on. It pinched the wand lips abit. But did it really pull the water out of the carpet!!
3. Would want to reengineer the design of the head to make it lighter(with more metal, being 20".)
4.Then you have to figure how many jets on the spray bar. 5? 6? Go with to big a jet .02 might create a problem with to much water, not enough suck.
5. No wimpy blowers allowed. But I wonder if the TM went 2.5" almost all the way to the wand, if that would make up for a small blowers. Then you got "how much hose laid out?"
I hardly go over 125' now. With 40' being 2.5". Makes a difference.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
Wow, I didn't realize it had a 1.5 inch tube.
I don't care for that ratio much....18 inch head on a narrow tube doesn't sound like a winner. I also agree with Matt on all his points.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
That's what I said, and then found out last night *I believe* Brian has a 36 blower to make the ratio even worse.

He has the bigger blower available on the butler mount....still gets choked by the 1.5 inch tube. Worth trying it out, he already has the wand.
Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
It's crazy that they make the wand tube that size and sell the thing new for 950. Looking forward to see how it works though.

Re: The best carpet cleaning wand.
I will say that butler does their research. Not sure if the 1.5 inch tube was a good idea, but give it a try. They made a good stair tool and some of their wands were pretty good...just heavy.
