Before you say it, no I didn't really want this particular one with the 1.5 inch tube, but it was the only tile spinner available local that day.  I needed one fast for a few small tile jobs scattered over the next 3 days, any port in a storm.

I've used it now on 6 grocery store bathrooms and one customer's kitchen.  Although it isn't perfect nor awe-inspiring, I have to admit that it was a pretty good performing tool.

Goods:

  1. Low profile and 12 inch manifold fitnext to the toilets and the wall as well as under obstacles well.
It actually cleaned closer to the wall than I expected

Makes a nice roar when the tigger is pulled...doesn't mean anything, but it was cool.
Solid aluminum top instead of the other distributor cap manifolds
Had a solid feel and looked professional

[b]Negatives:

[list=1]
[*]Off-hand handle not very comfortable...grabbing air all the time.
My 1.5 inch cool cuff reducer didn't seal at all as it seems to require a soft rubber seal style.
Water recovery wasn't great, about the same as an SX-12, maybe a llittle better.

[b]Summary:

This is respectable tile and grout tool with enough pluses to warrant a look.  I was going to unload mine, but I actually ended up liking the tool.  It works better than the PMF hard surface wand and gets under objects better than the Sx-12.  Not perfect, but a pretty solid choice.

Mytee has a new injection molded ring that will recover water better. Also a new handle is also almost finished. We are working on a package which will include the option of an 1 1/2" and a 2" tube set-up. These change are all up-gradable to an existing tool.

We should have everything done by the time of ICE.

Sounds like Mytee addressed some of those negatives and improved that tool.

Mill I re read your post about the Mytee 8904 tile spinner being able to get around toilets. Is that correct?  My SX-12 can't do that and it's also a 12 inch head I guess the head design is different.

I used to use an sx-12 mainly for bathroom tile at a major grocery store chain, but I was never able to get between the toilet and the wall in the last stalls with the sx-12. It would also struggle to fit below some of the stall dividers with the high dome.

The mytee spinner fits easily below the dividers and gets between the toiler and that wall. I don't know if it would be the same on residentials as much, but on the contracts that I have, it fits in far tighter spaces.

So it was bugging me that the mytee 8904 tile spinner is able to clean between the toilet and the wall and sx-12 can't  even though their both 12 inch tools.

The Mytee tile tool is definitely lower profile but I can usually get under the cabinets with the sx-12

When I measure the bottom of the tool it was 13 inches. I took off the brush attachment and and because of the lip it still measured 12 3/4 inches. I wonder what the mytee 8904 tile tool meassures at the bottom?

I measured the base on mine right at 13 inches with brush, just like the sx-12, but it was the top of the sx-12 that would hit the lower bowl of the toilet which reduced my ability to get between it and the wall...not so much the width.
