Mytee Bentley
anyone like these wands?
There is a great deal on them right now on steam brite, $230 normal price is $599
I know some cleaners love these, heres a video doing a side by side comparison with the big hydroforce Ti wand and the bentley flushed significantly better, left the carpet much cleaner the other wand needed a second pass.
The tube angle and positioning looks better than our VTs plus the wand is only about 9lbs

Re: Mytee Bentley
They do look different than before not sure if I like all the plumbing on the manifold.. Is the handle still carbon fiber? I recall some of them breaking. I wonder what the flow was on both wands. Looks like the other had some clogged jets
Re: Mytee Bentley
ya looked like clogged jet or clogged vac slot on the bigger wand.
I like the design of the vac though on the bentley, looks like it would get into edges really well
I have heard of some handles breaking but not everyone treats their equipment the same, some guys beat the hell out of their stuff.

That was interesting. Short.

Re: Mytee Bentley
I like the jets being a little further away, I have been playing with the idea of jets slight further back but running slightly more pressure... to get less injection into the carpet but a better covering spread
The VT jets are too close imo so 500psi is pushing it unless your cleaning cgd or berber, also sounds funny but I like the customer to see at least some steam.
its a placebo thing, but they see the steam and it makes them feel clean lol

Re: Mytee Bentley
not just the clogged jet spot that was missed but if you look at the very end of the video you can see the ti wand didnt flush nearly as well
Re: Mytee Bentley
I have both of those wands and have been using them for 6 years, so let me give you my take.
Bentley:
1. Recovery is very good as the head sits really low...almost flat.
2. The bentley can get under furniture better than almost all wands
3. The swivel allows you to "drive" it around corners and into closets
4. The original manifold sucked and the newer one still looks bad to me. Because the head sits so low, the jets have to be up pretty high so that you don't drag them, with the end result being over-spray and loss of heat actually reaching the fibers....just throws out steam vapor instead.
5. There is too much wand behind the trigger so that the hose pulls downward at a greater force than most wands and will kill your hand after a few hours. Unless they corrected that problem, it is a wand not to be used on large commercial.
Bottom is that the wand recovers better than just about all others, but sprays poorly compared to all others and it is very difficult to adapt a lower jet set-up due to the low head. It did look good in the video, but I stopped using that wand finally due to the manifold.
I know this is about the Mytee wand and not the Ti, but if you work commercial, that Ti is a vastly superior product....especially with the correct glide.
On residential, that Mytee can be a very good choice and that is a good price.....depends on the type of jobs I guess.

Re: Mytee Bentley
DP has a really cool, light weight Ti wand that's really low too....
It's nice. Maybe he will respond.

Re: Mytee Bentley
Now that I watched the video, my guess Nick or whoever it was, was paid with a free wand to make that video, and the other wand defiantly had some clogged jets?

Re: Mytee Bentley
I have heard of others having some issues with the Bently.
I think Larry Cobb of Cobbs carpet supply has a "fix" for it.
Maybe since Rob already owns one, maybe he would like to look it up and see?

Re: Mytee Bentley
Cobb redesigned the manifold, but it looks like the one in the video has that newer style. I'm certain it is better, but when I tried it out, I was not sold on it as a solution.
Re: Mytee Bentley
I think that hydroforce Ti wand in the video would be best with like a 56 blower, from the sound of the air it seems it has a very large opening.. possibly why the recovery was so poor in the video
Re: Mytee Bentley
Your instincts are correct on the Ti wand AC.
I purchased the PMF version years ago (same wand) and the opening was so large that my 4.7 blower couldn't pick up squat with it. They had to introduce those teflon lip glides to reduce the opening size to something more manageable.
With the glides, that wand is a freight train and recovers better than my VT, PCQ, and all other wands I have ever used. Why it doesn't look so good in that video is confusing to me.....maybe they used a 33 blower where that Mytee with the smaller opening would have performed better.
I will say, that price on that Mytee is pretty darn cheap.

Re: Mytee Bentley
From what I have read, I think most of the carbon fiber tube failures were from when similar stock was used on the early T-Rex RE's.
An interesting consideration I came across recently regarding swivel wands was the inability to easily tilt up one side of the head to chomp down on a hairball or misc. crunchy, or to perform the same move along baseboards, door jambs, or any other surfaces flush to the carpet that are out of range and forward of the normal jet coverage when approaching straight on, if that happens to be common maneuver in your wanding repertoire.

Re: Mytee Bentley
That is certainly true about the swivel head, it is designed to stay in contact with the floor, so you can't lift up a corner as you indicated.
It also sucks trying to flip over the wand to set it down while working. The head just flops around and it can be quite irritating at times getting it rolled over.

Re: Mytee Bentley
Something is iffy here, unless if I see it with my eyes the cleaning process from the beginning and make sure that the machine's setting is not being tampered with between the use of both wands, that result is pretty hard to believe.
Also the jets sizes might be different ( the Bentley looks like it has bigger jets )
I have the pmf titanium which is the same wand from Joe, and I know it can clean really well. The only wand that can out perform the pmf ti is my prochem ti, but it's at least a pound and a half heavier than my pmf ti, when you do 5 - 7 jobs a day that pound and a half will make a big difference to your body the next morning.

Some sort of locking mechanism on the swivel to let the user choose the "mode" would be sweet.

It would certainly help, that is for certain
