Now that winter has finally ended around here, I am going to put the Judson TNT into operation on a full-time basis. When dealing with float tanks, how important is a psi regulator between the machine inlet and a hose bib when direct feeding the machine?

I am new to float tanks after all these years and although I do have a fresh tank and booster pump on this truck, I am planning on using a direct garden hose to the float tank when doing commercial jobs and don't want to see the psi exceed the float shut-off's limits.....if that is even a concern with municipal pressures.

It's crucial imo, down here pressures differ greatly between areas, higher elevations generally have much higher pressures, I use pressure regulator between the hose and TM inlet, the only bad thing about that is never use customer's wimpy hoses, the coiled ones or pocket hoses, they most likely will burst, don't ask me how I know !

Thanks Dp, I was expecting that would be the case. I have run direct to my Butler before, but it goes straight into the pump instead of a water box.

Between residential and the higher pressures that I find on commercial, I thought it would be important. Looks like some more shopping to do this weekend.

Most float valves can handle 50 psi maybe a little more. But commercial can be 80 psi to 100 psi. But you can get a pressure reducer at a RV dealer store.
