Re: booster test 500 feet of hose
Pretty cool! Wish I wasn't home today looking at this stuff and posting topics. Loss of power in van. Clogged catalytic Converter. GRRRR. Finally booked up after dismal winter. Easter rush came late. Going to have to make those dreaded calls........
Re: booster test 500 feet of hose
Take some advice, don't buy a budget catalytic converter. Bite the bullet and get an OEM model...I know, they cost a ton more, but for a reason.
Good converters contain exotic metals (gold and platinum) which is why they are so expensive. You can probably get $300 - $500 for your plugged one, so don't just throw it away or let the muffler shop "dispose" of it.
Cheap converters lack those metals and it makes a big difference. It might last 6 mos to a year, but I wouldn't expect much more than that for a cheapo.
In the interim, you can pull the pipe and pull out the broken chunks to regstore air flow. Sure, it will not restore the ability to reduce emissions, but it will let your motor breath again and keep working until you find a replacement.
Yes, I said it emmisions nazis....calm down. It is just temporary and it hasn't been working for at least 6 months already so he isn't defeating anything.

And which is also why it's not uncommon, around here lol, for a person to come out in the morning and start their car only for it to all of a sudden sound like a NASCAR.
Those stupid thief's will crawl under the car with a battery powered Saws-all and cut it of, just to go recycle those valuable metals for cash!!...........it's a wonderful world we live in!!

I am starting to wonder why you still operate in that area? Sounds like South Detroit with a beach. Do they still have bikini car washes out there or do they wear chains now and scrape your vehicle with switchblades?
Yikes.

I live, work and try to stay in the good neighborhoods.....but sometimes you can't avoid the bad people and where they go.

The best hijack I have ever seen. I think every single post was about something else
Did you guys take a CFM reading with the booster as well?

That's some wild field dAy. Terry the point to the booster is the increase lift at the wand to get recover past the booster which after the booster the lift lowers but get the recovered solution to the recovery tank.
I would like to see some numbers after cleaning with that booster after 15 minutes of cleaning.

Truck fixed. Mechanic says it was newly installed spider dist cap. Changed out the whole Dist. Charged me $385. I was pissed the part lists for $130- charged me $275+ labor, got him down to $340. He was raping me and I let him know it. Probably could have just switched out cap. Glad to have the truck up and running just don't like being overcharged, lets hope he was right, seems to have fixed the problem and is still cheaper than the cat.eldiabloz wrote:Pretty cool! You're right, this plane was going to Cuba at gunpoint. At least it flowed effortlessly in your thread.

Sorry about the highjack! Sometimes it just happens that way. Really liked the vac booster though.
