Cleaning a sprayer
Most cleaners are using inline sprayers these days or electric sprayers and carry several jugs that can be changed out when you change chemicals. The question is, are you cleaning out these jugs nightly, dedicating them to certain products only, or just doing a quick rinse and moving on?
I have always rinsed the jugs out multiple times and then hit them with ammonia or sodim carbonate followed by more rinsing until clean, but I think I may be off the reservation on this practice based on the jugs that I see in other vans. It looks to me like many don't clean them out at all....so I wonder if I am wasting my time doing the nightly washings.
So let's hear it....who is cleaning out the sprayers nightly and if you do, what is your method? I would like to think that I am extending the life of the sprayer and preventing cross-mixing of incompatible compounds, but maybe I am just wasting a lot of ammonia for nothing.

Re: Cleaning a sprayer
Haven't cleaned my inline sprayers in 6 years. still work just as good as the day I got them. Sometimes I will take the spray gun on the sprayer and run some water through itself. Just to water down and rinse out. Thats it.
Re: Cleaning a sprayer
I rinse them out well with water if I'm going to use incompatible chemicals. I Haven't had any issues. I don't rinse them daily or weekly or ...

Re: Cleaning a sprayer
I should have mentioned that when I have had to rinse my jug it's only because I was stupid and forgot to buy extra jugs for different chems (presprays). I do have separate sprayers for protector and deodorizers.

Re: Cleaning a sprayer
I did the swap and it works great, the only problem is getting it to fit in a cap for the jug
I need a small grommet, like 1/4in

Rinse with water, maybe, at most.
And I've been using the same injection sprayer for over 20 yrs.

Re: Cleaning a sprayer
I guess you just saved me a step when I shut down for the day. I have 4 inline jugs and 4 jugs for my multisprayer, but I was always concerned with something not being compatible or causing corrosion.
