One Rule for growing your business as large as you want - Buy direct.  Eliminate suppliers from your life. They mislead you, deceive you, and take your money.
Learn to buy direct, the source, me, Costco, HD, Walmart, specialty manufacturers like pool suppliers for super strong liquid peroxide, etc.  Stop supporting suppliers and it will break their profit cycle; they can't survive selling only to large companies.  Large companies require deep discounts.  Large companies' edge is their secrets. Example: they have been buying 50% peroxide by the drum for years but did they ever teach us about it? No way.  It is was their edge.  Was it suppliers who taught us. No way. It would kill half their product line.
So who taught you?  It was other OOs who taught you about liquid peroxide, your friendly competitors.
 Eliminate suppliers and you eliminate the source of supply of your biggest competitors, these large companies, the same companies who do lousy work btw.
Buy direct and there will be nothing left but you OOs, the guys who learn to pick & choose.  You're free from low dollar work; you are fresh & ready for the good jobs when they come along.

I do the same for you. Ask Erik and others. I fired most suppliers, especially the ones who specialize in selling to large cleaning companies. When all the suppliers are gone, then the big companies will have no edge; you will, in the fact that it's you and those you personally train & supervise who do the work. It's over for the big guy if you just do what you know is right.

One Rule for diet - One ingredient foods - I'm a hypocrite here, I luv my junk food, but if you could only eat single ingredient foods you'd be better off health wise.
Start by eliminating foods with over 50 ingredients. lol.

Can I add another one to that list?

That's what I Realllly need!!....I bought 16 gallons today, 1/2 a tank for $70 ($4.40 per gal.), which will last me two days maybe. Not to mention the added propane cost at $3+ a gal.       

Natural gas.  in your area it's around 2 bucks.
There's conversions that are saving at least one cleaner I know over 500 bucks a month.

Isn't that the same as LPG or Propane??

Just did a search in my city, and closest NG station bout 5 miles, and now selling for $2.80 gal.  Wonder what the conversion cost, and what the HP loss is tho?

Natural gas and propane are different. Google it.
Propane is a higher btu gas within natural gas.
Both can be liquefied.
LNG is for sure cheaper. They used to just burn it off in the gas fields.
Smart oil companies like Texaco were gobbling up rights in New Mexico while we were still searching for the last drop of oil down dip in Tejas. 20 years after their discoveries those resources still represent a good supply.
Conversions are expensive but worth it at least until it gets more exploited.

You can get natural gas for vehicles etc but the set up is super expensive to be able to fill a truck or a machine... I believe its in the 25-30 grand range

One army base in seattle has a set up for it and a bunch of their trucks run on it. would be really cool if we could get something like that.

propane is good, and its supposed to drop to under 3/gal this summer in my area.

diesel right now here is about the same as gas, but turbo diesel engine gets excellent mileage, so were saving money on the box truck over our express van by a lot.

I just did some googling,   and found a home fill station for 5 grand..   thats not too bad but not sure the quality.

I will probably look into this more in the future, propane engine can be converted fairly easily with the right mechanic or buying a regulator for it.

I dont have natural gas at my house so I would have to get the station set up at my parents would be the only option, but around 2 bucks a gallon is tempting.

yeah buts what's the mpg on natural gas. ethanol cheaper, but burns rich and sludge up ur motor. Diesel runs better mpg. Propane ? Natural gas ?

propane is a slight HP loss but you just have to account for it when buying a motor. I dont think running the diesel truck converted is worth it.

I think its like an 8% hp loss

Propane inject the diesel....best option out there.  Better mpg, burns clean, and increases power.

Systems around here run less than $1500.
