increased my heat and lower my Kero bill
I had this idea of using this 1/4" X 1-3/4" OD10" Double Helix Copper Moonshine Condensing Coil to catch the heat from my engine exhaust , routing the return water line from my pressure regularor going back to my water box with a temperature 140* dump valve is working great the Kero burner does not stay on for long to get the water as hot as I want
What do you think ?

Re: increased my heat and lower my Kero bill
Great idea. So this works on the low pressure or bypass side and is wrapped around the exhaust?
Re: increased my heat and lower my Kero bill
That is correct the low pressure water going back to the water box , Installed a temperature valve relief to protect the pump , so far is been working for about a monthLarry Henson wrote:Great idea. So this works on the low pressure or bypass side and is wrapped around the exhaust?

Re: increased my heat and lower my Kero bill
Looks cool.
So does the exhaust heated water then go threw your high pressure pump?
If so, what type of pump do you use?
I've thought about doing similar thing before, but don't know how to do it without running hot water threw the pump.

Re: increased my heat and lower my Kero bill
I have a cat Pump the water going to the pump will not get pass 140* more them safe for any pump , the water will be release when it gets too hot by dumping hot water and letting fresh water inDavey Cracker wrote:Looks cool.

Re: increased my heat and lower my Kero bill
Are you running the high temp seals in the pump?
I might test this by hooking up my TM's incoming water supply hose to my homes water heater, which is about 120 deg. So I can get an idea of how much it improves the water temp coming out of the LG heater and ultimately at the wand.

Are you going to run your truck mount to make shine now? They would think you are cleaning carpets.

Re: increased my heat and lower my Kero bill
How did you coil the tubing without bending it, especially 2 layers?
I might try this on the TM I'm building. I did away with the blower heat exchanger(or the shell of it...no tubes where in there).

Re: increased my heat and lower my Kero bill
That is very interesting...don't know if it would survive the road salt in this area, but if you operate in a warm climate then it looks like a grand idea.
Re: increased my heat and lower my Kero bill
Wonder if he could make the coil with stainless.

Re: increased my heat and lower my Kero bill
Great idea Gtech. Is the water that's being dumped going the fresh water tank or water box? I sent the ebay seller an email to see if he can fabricated a stainless coil and what the PSI rating is on the copper coil? Do you think it would be best to put a coil on the high pressure side.
Re: increased my heat and lower my Kero bill
There's not need for a high pressure coil this set up is just to pre-heat the water before it enters the pump
To check if this is for you try it first by connecting to the customers hot water instead of the cold side clean some carpets this way and see if it makes a difference on the amount of heat that your system will produce and maintain

Re: increased my heat and lower my Kero bill
To Mo the water on my system dumps in to my waste tank I don't have a fresh tank but it can be routed to dump anywhere it's your choice
Remember it only dumps water when the water in the box is 140* and not before

Re: increased my heat and lower my Kero bill
Wrap it with exhaust heat wrap. It will make it even hotter.

Done the wrap made a big increase in heat Thank'sej54 wrote:Wrap it with exhaust heat wrap. It will make it even hotter.
