heat thru pump?
So bane clene pre heats their water, seems to 160-180°.
Q: what temp is to much/hot to go thru the pump?
Different specs(hot water thru) for Cat or comet or general pumps?

Re: heat thru pump?
I think 160 degrees is the factory limit on a standard CAT pump, but you could probably upgrade the seals for higher temperatures. I don't think it would go a lot higher than that though.
Re: heat thru pump?
That's about right. And yes there are a set of seals that are high temp ceramic that cost about twice as much that you may be able to run 180 deg in. If you are running a unit with hx's, then you should have a water box. The water Bx should have a thermal relief valve on it, look at it it should have been temp rating on it. That is there to protect the pump seals. I would say that you can add 20 to 30 deg as they don't want to get the water up to the seals heat max temp.milspec6 wrote:I think 160 degrees is the factory limit on a standard CAT pump, but you could probably upgrade the seals for higher temperatures. I was looking at banes stuff.
Just thinking and analyzing what they do.

Re: heat thru pump?
The Banes company always impressed me as far as support and education. I don't think there is any other cleaning company out there that does a better job for their users.
That said, the machines are not their strong point although it would likely be very reliable by that design. I see them for sale a lot around here, but I just can never find any interest in them.
