Male or female quick connect/disconnect first?
On the way home today I was thinking about how some cleaners have the male qc on their wand and others the female quick connect. I personally have the female qc on the wand. I have always done it this way because back in the day ( 1980's) we didn't wan't to drag the male qc over the ground when we wrapped up the hose because it would mess up the seal between connectors. I have seen wands for sale with the male qc attached. I don't think it makes any difference. Not the most mind bending subject, but what the hell, which way is your set up and why?
Re: Male or female quick connect/disconnect first?
For a long time HM had their hoses set up with the male qc on the unit then the line going to the wand had female qc on both ends with male on the wand.
PC had female ends from the unit all the way to wand with male end on wand.
I don't think it really matters.

yeah doesnt matter
the only reason I stuck with females on the tools is when reeling the line in I dont have to worry about crud getting inside the female and having to clean it off.
/shrug whatever though lol

Re: Male or female quick connect/disconnect first?
I've always had a Female on TM, and all job side of hose ends, and then males on all the tools.
With Joe's cool covers now (and the predecessor to it, overpriced QD with cover on it that the local suppliers rip us off for), you don't have to worry about dragging dropping or dinging female QD's anymore..or getting burned trying to connect them.

Plus the males are cheaper and u have more of them because they are on each tool.
Re: Male or female quick connect/disconnect first?
Always ran males on the tools...they don't wear out as often as the females so I don't need to change them as often. The females get changed out with the new pressure hose.
Really doesn't matter.

Re: Male or female quick connect/disconnect first?
We always ran male at the truck & female on the tools. I learned cleaning (and still do) mostly commercial accounts, for most of my career with rotary extractors and found that this puts the female riding over metal thresholds of commercial doors hose end first so it doesn't pop the solution hoses apart. I also found that as long as I use quality fittings such as Parker or something from Joe the males always need changed much more frequently than the females.
