Here is a good tool
I added this tool to my tool box today. It's small and does quick work of cutting solution hose for field repair. Cost $17 at lowes.

Also, I love those field hose repair kits. Used them twice in the last six months. Quick and easy. If only I could remember to put the spring and hose cover back on before I so the repair.

That's funny Ryan

Hey! Anybody notice my new work shoes? It's my third pair this year! The first two were cheap. One pair was nike, the other was some basketball shoe made by and one.
My new ones are soccer shoes, Adidas sambas I think. I've wanted these for awhile to try out, pretty comfortable, let's see of they last. I go for black, no racial connotation intended I like some style too!

Re: Here is a good tool
Will an anvil pincer like that cut it cleanly? I tried a pair of bolt cutters once and it just crushed it and left a poor cut.
If it is as clean as my dremel....I'm all over it.
As for the shoes, I would never buy Nike shoes for anything...they stopped being about the customer a long long time ago with their shoes. They might change the color 4 times a year and add another $5 to the price. Just watch the professional athletes that are not being paid to wear them and you will not find them. Even in local 10k races...very small
percentage are Nike. They do make nice running shorts though, seem to be cut correctly to be comfortable.
If you really want comfort, look for Diadora brand shoes and you will have a very comfortable high performance shoe!

Yep, never thought to ask the performance shoe guy. Although the running shoes I have are pretty good. I guess when I step out to the other I'll find Beulah Land.
Ok Rob, I'll have a fresh video for ya tomorrow of the cord cuter. I have seems the bolt cutter cut as well. It's not to clean. These are like butter. Get excited it that good!

I am excited, having a manual tool like that would be easier than looking for an outlet is a great thing....if it cuts clean enough.

Re: Here is a good tool
Thanks for the video, the cut does look pretty clean instead of crushed. I didn't expect that from basically a pvc pipe cutter. I guess I have something else to buy this weekend.
Oh, and I forgot to replace the spring last time too...you are not alone.

Rob, those are large gauge corded wire cutters.

Okay, got it....that would explain why they worked.
Re: Here is a good tool
On another note, that skinny hose I have on both vans and have lasted over 14 months before a failure at the wand quick connect. I think that's a good track record for all the use near the connection before a failure.

Re: Here is a good tool
I will second the skinny...been holding up real well despite the harsh winter temps and getting pinched by store entries. Solid performer.
Re: Here is a good tool
Got to use mine today for the first time. Great find ryan. Should come standard with the field crimps. Much better than an angle grinder. Cleaner cut, faster, not noisy, takes up less space in the van, and doubles as wire/ziptie snips.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
Re: Here is a good tool
I took the advice as well and picked one up...haven't used it yet, but nice to have over a corded device. Too bad they don't make one with a ratcheting device to make it less difficult to squeeze, then it would be a slam dunk tool.
Re: Here is a good tool
I'm going to get a pair of those cable cutters. Where are u getting the repair kit for hose ends.
As for the shoes Ryan when I worked at ILS I found the safeT shoe from Walmart for the money worked well. They are made for the working on wet floors. Leather and has a no slip sole for about $30.00. Wear my $60.00 shoes somewhere else. Besides the cheap ones lasted 6-8 months the others only last about 3.
Anyway I'd like the link for the hose ends.
